Chapter 2: Not On This Table!

Today started pretty shitty. First, I woke up to Cole splashing ice-cold water on me, then the hot water in my bathroom didn't work. When I finished my shower, I forgot to pick out my clothes for the day, so I ended up running around my room frantically because of the cold morning air. I put on a white oversized sweatshirt, black leggings, converse, bracelets, a necklace, and make-up.
I did my usual routine, and ran downstairs to eat, only to find out that my mom didn't make breakfast because there was an emergency meeting at her work. Then, Cole and I drove to school almost above the speed limit which almost resulted into a panic attack. When we got to school, we found a car parked in our usual parking spot, so we had to look for a new one that was far from the school entrance (farther than usual). When we finally found one, we were running late for class, so we had to run all the way to our lockers, then to our own class.
It's lunchtime now, and so far, things have been going well. Anne and Angie were waiting for me in line when I entered the cafeteria. I walked over to them, and as soon as I was in hearing distance, they started fangirling about the two transfer students that were, I quote, "The hottest human beings in the world. Probably even hotter than our sun!" Their words, not mine!
Suddenly, the cafeteria doors opened loudly, and all the students, who were once noisy as hell, silenced and stared at the people who just came in. I ignored everyone's suspicious stares and continued turning my back away from them. All of a sudden, Anne and Angie started to violently shake my arm with wide eyes. "What?" I glared at the way they shook me like I was a drink. "They're here!" Anne whisper-shouted, dragging every word.
"Who's here?" I asked, confused. "Harry and Louis!" She whispered exaggeratedly. "Who?" I scrunched my eyebrows, still in confusion of who she was talking about. She groaned and rolled her eyes, saying, "The transfer students, you idiot!"
My mouth formed an 'o' shape, acting like I understood and cared, then my expression changed into a 'Who cares?' one, looking really blunt. "I honestly don't care; besides, they probably won't even notice me anyway, since I'm like the invisible student here." I mumbled out the last few words, receiving a hard hit on my arm. "Hey! What was that for?" I whined while rubbing my slightly red arm. "Stop that!" Anne turned her eyes into slits. "Stop what?" I asked, playing dumb. "Stop saying you're invisible because you're not! You should really listen to Hunter Hayes' song "Invisible", so that you'll finally realise that you're actually not invisible." Angie rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Okay, okay! I'll stop as long as you stop hitting me because it fucking hurts!" I exclaimed irritatedly.
After the small 'scene', we reached the end of the line without a problem, and we hastily walked to our usual table. We easily started a conversation, and we talked about random things like how Mr. Reynolds is now bald, how Janie Carpenter, the school bitch, had a surgery to make her boobs bigger, how Niall Horan, the school's football MVP, had his hair dyed a galaxy blue colour, and how 'hot' the transfer students are. I wasn't very interested on our last topic, to be honest. I really didn't care about them. They're just hot guys.
In the middle of a serious conversation that we were having, someone cleared their throat and said, "Excuse me, but this is our table." The person had an accent. I couldn't exactly point out what accent, but it's definitely not American.
"I'm sorry, but I believe your name isn't written on this table!" Angie sassily said, snapping her fingers while turning her body towards the source of the voice. When she was facing the person, her whole expression changed from sassy to shy and embarrassed. During her sassy remark, I had my head hung low, so I still didn't know who owned the voice who claimed our table, but I silently agreed with Angie.
