Arena day 1

I wake up to see black pants and a grey tank top on my bed. I get up and get dressed, and as I walk out, I see brown combat boots. I slip those on and put my hair in a ponytail. I put my anchor necklace on and look in the mirror with determination. I walk out and sit at the table. There's no one here, so I just grab a piece of toast and a glass of orange juice. As soon as I finish, Finnick walks out. I stand up and look at him.
"Hi" I say, and mentally face palm because it's so generic. Finnick says nothing, so I walk up to him and kiss him.
"I know what I want" I whisper and smile.
"You do?" He asks, surprised, and smiles too.
"I think I'm in love with you Finnick Odair" I say, and hug him. Petunia decides to walk in, so I stand straight up.
"I should go" I say and start walking to the elevator.
"I'll come too" Finnick says.
"I'm sorry. But I want to spend the last couple minutes of my life with my brother" I say, and give Finnick an apologetic look.
"I understand" Finnick says and Eric comes out.
"Let's go" I say and drag Eric out of the apartment.

"Remember. Get what you can and leave. Dot stay around for the careers. Try to ally with a person who can fight, but you can take down. Or don't ally at all. Your choice. Please don't die, I need my little Ariel with me" Eric says, hugging me. I leave him and board the hovercraft and a lady with a syringe comes up to me.
"Arm"
"What?" I ask.
"Arm" the lady repeats, so I hold my arm out. She sticks the needle in my skin, and I don't flinch. Then she leaves and then Julius comes onto the hovercraft and we start flying.

*minute before games*

"You're stronger than they are. Remember, you can't afford to be weak when your enemy is stronger" Andrius says, and zips up my hoodie. I have a dark blue windbreaker jacket like the ones we wore when we go boating in 4, and a black zip up hoodie.
"Thanks Andrius. Thanks for everything. And if I don't make it out t-"
"You're making it back. Don't say anything else" Andrius says, and hugs me.
"Ok. Thanks" I say.
"Ten seconds" a mechanical voice says, and I get into the tube.
"Bye" I mouth and then the tube conceals me.

I'm getting lifted into the arena. My grave. I get blinded by a light and lift my hand to shield my face. I see sand around me. I look to my right to see a few palm trees and an ocean. I look to my left to see a dense forest. There's a mountain in front of me and a grassland behind me. There's a lake in the grassland, and that's the only water I see, besides the ocean. The countdown starts.

Bang.

The pedestal mines are deactivated and I sprint off of the mental plate. Everyone else is having a hard time running, the sand slowing them down. This is where Julius and I have an advantage. We always run on sand. The beach. I get to the Cornucopia and I find a trident, a knife vest, and two backpacks. I run out as everyone else reaches the horn. I stab the district 3 male as I run by, and the district 7 male after he throws an axe at me. I sprint into the forest and don't look back. I decide I'm deep enough into the forest, I climb a tree and sort though my packs. I hear the crunching of leaves and see Marco walking alone. I throw my knife at him and hit him in the head. He collapses on the ground, then the rest of the careers run to him. I grab a few more knives and chuck them at everyone. I land all of the knives in their heads and then jump to the ground to collect my weapons.

The sky darkens and I climb a tree and look at my supplies. I count 24 knives of all sizes on my vest, I have a rope that is about 6 feet long, a few packs of dried fruit, a water canteen, iodine, matches, a sleeping bag, two packs of crackers, and a coil of wire. I decide to get some rest, and I close my eyes. The last thought I have is of Finnick. The love of my life.

And I may never see him again.
