I was really excited. That day was my first day at school. I chose a really cute dress. Mom had made breakfast and I ate it very quickly. As I was going to get in the car, I met Tom.

"Hey Heather!"
"Hi"
"So all set to school?"
"Yeah I think so."
"Best of luck!"
"Thanks." I said, still feelings nervous."Ok then bye I gotta go."
"Bye."

Dad dropped me in his car. While traveling to school, Dad was telling me about how West Silver was very good and stuff the whole time, but that didn't make me any less nervous.

When at last we reached school, my nervousness increased. It was a very big area with buildings. I saw many other students chattering and laughing about while walking to school. "All the best honey, see ya."said Dad.

"Thanks Dad Bye."

I walked towards the school slowly. I could hear the whizzes and buzzes the students made, it made me feel like I was back in South Dakota.

There was one big building and three other smaller buildings. The front garden of the school was very pleasant, there were many flowering plants and bushes cut into round shapes along the path.

The door for the biggest building was huge. It was open and I walked in. There were many other students, all very cheerful. A little further there were many colorful posters.

I found the office and I entered politely knocking at the door and saying "may I come in?"
"Yes you may" replied a kind cheerful voice. I went in and introduced myself.
"Headmaster Alan Von" I read in his name board, or whatever you call it, kept on his table. He looked kind, he was in his fourties I guess. He wore a coat and shirt tucked in, he had dark brown hair.
"Heather Wales! Welcome to West Silver," he gave me a warm welcome, shaking my hand. "Thank you!" I said.
"Your father spoke to me last week, so you're in Mrs. Prevert's class."
He called Mrs.Prevert and told her to take me to her class.
"I hope you get along with the others and enjoy our school."
"Thanks!" I said.

My teacher, Mrs.Prevert, was a thin tall lady with black hair wearing a pair of spectacles. She looked a bit strict. I heard the bell ring and Mrs.Prevert led the way to her class.

The students in her class stopped all the buzzes and whizzes, when we entered. "Good morning class!" She greeted.
"Good morning Mrs.Prevert!" The students greeted back.
"Class, this is Heather Wales, your new classmate."

The students looked at me for a couple seconds and whispered to each other. Mrs.Prevert gave me a timetable and I went and sat at an empty seat in the third row next to a girl with plaits named Scarlet and a boy named Jason. I didn't look at the students much because I thought I might miss my friends back in South Dakota.

First lesson was Mathematics, which was my favourite but I found it boring that day. Mrs.Prevert did Mathematics.

Walking to other classes was totally different because back in South Dakota the teachers had to come to our classes.

During lunch; the cafeteria was a noisy place but decent. The cafeteria lady was a plump lady with blonde hair
I felt lonely sitting alone while the others had so much fun. I missed my friends but the lunch was delicious.

I got back home by the school bus. "How was school honey?" Mom asked.
"Boring.." I replied in a tired voice.
"Oh first days are always like that, dont worry you'll get along with it soon"
"I hope so, mom I'm really tired, can I get something to drink?"
"Sure honey,"

I went to my bedroom and I laid on my bed, thinking about school, then I remembered, eeeek I've got loads of homework to do. Could this get any worse? Yes it did.
