"Lesson Learned"

When Chresanto's mother got home she was tired. "Chres honey" His mother called out. She didnt get an response. She went into his room but she didnt see him. "Well knowing him he might still be at Myles house" His mother thought to herself. She got into the shower and got ready for bed. She immediately went straight to bed. But for some reason she couldnt sleep, all she could do was toss and turn. When Chresanto wasnt home, she never could sleep. The thought of her son not being there always freaked her out. She got out of her bed and dialed Chresanto's number. After a couple of rings, his phone went straight to voicemail. She started freaking out. Chresanto never missed his mother phone calls what so ever. She immediately dialed Myles cell. "Hello" Myles answered. "Hey Myles tell Chresanto its time for him to get home" Chresanto mother replied. "Mrs. August he's not here. He didnt come over today. He was with Alexis all day today" Myles responded. "Thank you Myles" Chresanto's mother said hanging up immediately. She started freaking out even more. She walked up the street looking for her son. The thought of her son missing hurted her badly inside. She walked back down the street when something caught her eye. It was Chresanto's cell phone lying face down on the sidewalk. She quickly picked it up and looked at the many missed calls he had. She scanned throught his phone to find Alexis number. "Chres baby" Alexis answered. "This isnt Chres. Where is my son Alexis" Chresanto mother replied. "I dont know Mrs. August. He walked me home tonight and he was suppose to went straight back home" Alexis responded getting worried. "Listen here if i find out that my son is missing because of you. There is going to be a big problem. You hear" Chresanto mother said back in an angry tone as she hung up. Chresanto mother didnt know what to do or think. On her way back to the house she got a phone call from Rayan. "Hello" Chresanto mother said answering in a more relief tone. "Mama. Im in the emergency room. I had got shot tonight and i need you to come up here at the South Central Hospital right now. I lost my cell phone tonight so i couldnt call you from my phone but mama I need you" Chresanto said back. "its okay baby you stay strong. Mama is on the way okay love and i got you phone Chres" His mother replied getting into the car. "Yes ma'am." Chresanto said back as he hung up. His mother immediately drove to the emergency room. When she arrived at the hospital she got out the car and rushed to the front desk. "What room is Chresanto August in" His mother said almost out of breath. "Ma'am please wait in the waiting room" The lady at the front desk replied. "Hell no. Thats my baby and i be damn if i wait. Now you tell me right got damn now what room he is in" His mother called back raising her voice. "Okay calm down. He is in room 301" The woman said back in a nervous tone. Chresanto's mother ran down the halls immediately trying to find room 301. Once she found room 301 she rushed right in. "Baby are you okay. I was so worried about you" his mother said rushing over to Chresanto giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Mom im fine" Chresanto said in a low tone. "Rayan can i have a minute alone with Chres" His mother asked. "Of course" Rayan replied exiting the room. "Chres. Did you get shot because of Alexis and dont you lie to me" his mother said in a serious tone. Chresanto knew not to lie to his mother because she automatically knew when he was lying. "To be honest mom i dont know. I mean her ex Kevin did shoot me, i know that much" Chresanto said looking at the tv. "Look at me Chres. I told you that you dont need to be getting into mess behind this girl. Baby its more beautiful girls out here. Dont let this girl get you into bullshit. You the only one i have Chres. If i lose you baby i have no one. Sweetie you got to let this girl go. Its not worth it" his mother said in a serious tone. Chresanto loved Alexis but for some reason what his mother said made a lot of sense. "Mom you're right. Maybe i do need to let her go. Me risking my life for this girl isnt worth it" Chresanto said looking at his mother. "Mama knows best honey. Now get some sleep. I will be right here by your side baby. So if you need anything im right here" his mother said sitting in the recliner. "Yes ma'am" Chresanto said putting on a smile.

The Next Day: 

"Goodmorning" the nurse said walking into the room with breakfast. "Goodmorning nurse" Chresanto mother whispered waking up from her sleep. "I brought you guys some breakfast" the nurse replied. "Chres honey wake up" his mother said shaking him awake a little. "Im up" he mumbled lifting up fron the bed. The nurse sat Chresanto's food on a tray and placed it across his lap. "If you guys need anything just press the button" The nurse said exiting the room. "How did you sleep" Chresanto mother asked sipping her juice. "Alright I guess" he replied glancing at tv. "Do you want anything to eat" his mother said getting up from the recliner. "No. I'm straight" Chresanto replied in a soft tone. "Chresanto you have a visitor " the nurse said barging into the room.  As soon as I saw who my visitor was, much whole mood change. "Chres baby" Alexis whispered loudly. "LEAVE RIGHT NOW. YOU ALMOST HAD MY BABY KILLED" Chresanto mother yelled out. "Mom chill. Let me and Alexis have a minute " Chresanto said. "Okay! okay! if you need me I will be outside" his mother sighed. "Chres I just want to apologize,  I didn't have no idea he was going to try and hurt you " Alexis said.walking towards me crying. "I almost lost my fucking life over your ass. And my mom would have lost her damn mine if I died" Chresanto said raising his voice. "I'm sorry Chres. I'm really sorry babe" Alexis said kissing Chresanto on the cheek. "Sorry don't cut it. Just leave man" Chresanto called out looking at the t.v. Alexis walked out of the room and my mother entered the room. "Chresanto I don't want you to hang with her anymore and I mean it" his mother pleaded. "Yes ma'am " Chresanto replied. Chresanto didn't want to talk to Alexis anymore but deep down inside he loved that girl to pieces and lord knows he couldn't deny it.
