It was 2 weeks until Christmas and I was freaking out like a rabbit on heat.
"What am I going to do Luke," I sat on my bead with my head in my hands, my brother, Luke, sheepishly standing in the doorway, "I have no ideas what to get for Dylan's Christmas present!""Quit whining like a baby, phone Mitch and go shopping, I'm pretty sure he still has to buy Sally something."
"You're right." I said exhaling, I pulled my phone out of my pocket only to find a text, from Dylan.
I've got your present, I hope you'll like it, any ways can't wait to see what you got me (if you even remembered) love you :P xx
I dropped my phone on the floor and flopped back on my bed putting my head back in my palms.
"Dude get a hold of yourself, come on I'll go shopping with you instead, plus we can get McDonalds while we're out, sound good?" Luke protested, giving me a convincing smile.
Ever since mum and dad had the divorce, Luke has been a lot more involved with everything, every evening he would come downstairs for a few hours spending time with me or mum before he went back to the pit he calls a bedroom. Anyway I got up and half walked half stumbled downstairs, Luke close behind me. Mum had gone out with Jane so the car was still in the drive.
Neither of us said anything the whole drive there, until we saw something we had grown quite used to. Sam and Cam wrestling in a car park with everyone else standing around cheering them on.
"Seriously guys, how old are you?" I said mockingly as I approached.
"4 by the looks of it!" Laughed Mitch, while Sam just replied with a shrug, cam still in a headlock gasping for air.
We all laughed as cam fell to the ground coughing and wheezing like a baby, being a bit to dramatic about it, as usual.
Me and Luke headed off to the shops, where we looked at just about everything. It took about 2 hours and a bit of help from Sally to finally settle on a fancy watch and necklace with a locket on it that read 'all of me loves all of you' inside.
I repeated the words in my head over and over before Sally hand to pinch me to get my attention.
"Ouch, what the heck Sally?"
"Stop gawking over your thoughts about Dylan and come on, the shop closes soon."
I never realised the smile that was plastered on my face when I was thinking about him. Something about his was just 'super irresistible' as he would put it. But what bothered me was that I couldn't quite figure out what. Every last part of him was flawless and made me smile no matter what. And that's why I love him so much, no matter what he can make me smile, making my life light up for those few seconds. But as my mum always says 'it's the small things that matter in life' and she was right.
