Kavita took some steps but Nandini held her arm and pulled her back.
"Kya batane jaarahi hai aap unhe? Haan? Ye, ke mein unke saath nahi jaasakti...ya ye, ke muje cancer hai?"

The next moment, they heard a gasp from the doorstep and Nandini's eyes widened as she turned to see who it was.

"Mukti!" Nandini uttered.

Mukti had actually come to call Nandini, but fortunately or unfortunately, she heard Nandini's conversation with her maasi and was shaken by the sudden revelation.

"Cancer!" Mukti repeated staring at Nandini but it was barely audible.

Nandini turned back to her maasi. "Yahi chahti thi na aap? Ke mere friends ko pata chaljaye, lo, pata chalgaya. And now I'm going with them and you can't stop me!"

Nandini went to Mukti, holding her hand, she took her to the guest room.

"Mukti, say something" Nandini spoke softly kneeling in front of Mukti who was sitting on the bed, still in a state of shock.

"Nandini...ye..ye kab..kese.." Mukti fumbled with her words.

"Mukti" Nandini held her hands. "Hota toh wohi hai na jo kismat me likha hota hai? Toh bas, meri kismat me ye hai" she smiled.

"Does..does anyone know about this?" Mukti asked, some tears escaping her eyes seeing the strong girl in front of her.

Nandini nodded. "Bhai..Cabir knows"

"Nandini..tuje kuch nahi hoga" Mukti wiped her tears and made Nandini sit beside her. "Nothing will happen to you"

"I know, jab tak mere saath tum sab ho, muje kese kuch hosakta hai?" Nandini said and Mukti hugged her.
Both of them shed silent tears hugging each other. But as always, Nandini had to be strong, she couldn't fall weak.

"Acha chalo, aaj ke liye itna rona dhona kaafi hai, baaki ka kal continue karenge ok?" Nandini said breaking the hug earning a slight chuckle from Mukti who was wiping her tears.

"Dekho na, saara make-up kharab hogaya tumhara" Nandini wiped Mukti's smudged out kajal.

"I'll just freshen up" Mukti said and Nandini nodded with a smile.

"Yaar tu Nandini ko bulane gayi thi ya gappe ladane?" Manik questioned as Nandini and Mukti descended the stairs.

"Kyu? Uske saath gappe ladane ka haqq sirf tuje hai?" Mukti questioned back and Manik nodded with a smirk looking at Nandini, and luckily she was the only one who witnessed it and smiled faintly.

"Nandu, maasi?" Navya asked and Nandini told her there was nothing to worry about.

One by one stepped out of the house and the last two were Manik and Nandini.
Just as Nandini was going out, she felt a tug on her wrist and the next moment, she was pulled by Manik and crashed onto his chest.

"Whats wrong with you Manik? You can't always just pull me like this!" She said in an irritated tone as though removing her maasi's frustration on him.

"Hua kya hai?" He asked softly ignoring what she said and she looked away.

"Nothing..kuch nahi"

He kept his fore finger under her chin making her look at him. "Kuch toh hai, tell me what's wrong"

Forgetting everything, she genuinely smiled seeing his concern and how well he had known her. "Nothing's wrong Manik, sach mein"
