I awoke to the sound of gravel being crushed, and the feeling of my head hitting the window. I looked outside and saw that we were- obviously- on a gravel road.
I looked ahead, through the windshield, and saw a beautiful white, two story house with two windows on each side of the front door. Below the windows were flower beds with roses climbing a lattice wall along the actual wall.
In front of the climbing roses were lots of other different types of flowers, arranged by color. The closest to me was the pink, then the purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and in the back was the roses, of course. The smaller flowers were on the edges, and the taller flowers towards the middle.
I hadn't noticed that we were stopped until my mom opened my door. "Lily, sweetheart, I know the house is beautiful, but you need to get out of the car." She said with amusement written all over her face. "This is our house?" I asked, adoring the beauty of it. She laughed softly, and nodded.
I got out of the car and went to the trunk to grab my bags. I then got my smaller bag out of the back seat and put Princess on a leash, letting her jump out, too.
She gladly hopped out the door and started running toward the house. "Chill, Princess! I'm excited to!" I giggled at her insane actions.
We arrived at the door, and I struggled to open it, because of all of the bags I was holding. Talk about a struggle. My mom came up behind me and opened it for me, smiling amused at how much I was struggling.
I walked in, listening to the echo of my shoes and Princess' paws on the wood flooring. "Go find your room," my mom said, gesturing toward the white spiral stairs behind her.
I ran up the stairs, after letting Princess off her leash. Once I was at the top, Princess darted past me, running toward a wooden door. She stopped and sniffed it, then started scratching it with her claws.
I walked over to her and opened the door, just as curious as she. Walking in the room, I noticed how large it was. It was probably the master bedroom.
I put my bags down and walked out, leaving the door opened so I wouldn't forget which one I came out of. I walked back down the stairs to find my mom.
"Mom, I found my room!" I called, having no idea where she was. I heard the tapping of shoes on the floor and followed where the sound was leading.
I found my mom looking at the kitchen. It was just as gorgeous as the rest of the house. It had white countertops with black speckles, and white painted cabinets and drawers.
"I found my room," I said again, after almost running into her. "Alright, sweetie. I have some people coming to help move the furniture, so we'll be able to do that later. For now, figure out how you wanna decorate your room." She said smiling.
I nodded my head, and ran back upstairs. Once I was back in my room, I pulled out a sheet of blank paper and a pencil. I drew out how I wanted my room to look, including where the furniture was and every thing else along with it.
"Lily, come here!" Mom yelled. I put down the pencil and paper and ran downstairs. As soon as I got to the bottom, I saw a woman who looked to be the same age as my mom with a girl and a boy about my age. The were standing in the main room. The woman, who I guessed was the mother of the two kids, was talking to my mom.
"Lily, this is Mrs-" she said, but was interrupted by the woman. "Shut up, V. Lily, you can call me Maddie." I giggled at how she told my mom to shut up, "And these are my kids, Abigail and Alexander." "Abby." Her daughter corrected her. "Alex." Her son did the same. "Hey!" I greeted cheerfully.
I then saw a blonde teen walk in right behind them and hug my mom tightly, with tears in her eyes. "Hey V! I missed you so flipping much!" She pulled back and smiled at my mom, her hands still on her shoulders. "Hey Rosie!" Mom greeted, tears filling her eyes too. I cleared my throat really loud and obvious.
Rosie laughed softly and looked at me like she saw a connection. "What is this? A reunion of tears?" Every one burst out laughing like maniacs. Except me. "Lily, these are my friends and our neighbors, Rosie, Maddie, and her kids." My mom explained the situation to me.
"I'm actually Maddie's kid now..." Rosie butted in. My mom went wide eyed, and Maddie winked at her. "And by the way, Lily, I love your sassiness." She complimented.
I put my hand under my chin, and grinned. Once again, everyone laughed at me. Except for Abby and Alex. They just looked at me like I was a brat.
"Kids, go upstairs and goof around or something. You and Lily need to get to know each other. She needs some friends." Maddie decided she wanted me to be friends with her kids. Well then.
I looked at them and gestured for them to follow me. We ran up the stairs and into my room. I immediately grabbed my diary off the floor and shoved it in my bag.
Princess jumped on them and started barking joyfully. "Down girl." I commanded. "OMG! I LOVE your dog!" Abby cried, giggling at Princess. I laughed at how she was getting attacked with love by my little girl.
Alex looked at me with amusement in his eyes, and we both burst out laughing. "Princess, come here, girl," I laughed, patting my thighs and leaning over. She looked at me and ran at me, jumping in my arms. "Good girl," I whispered, patting her head softly.
"Princess? Seriously?" Alex said, looking at me like I was insane. Both of them burst out laughing like they've never heard a name like that before.
I stood there, glaring at them until they stopped laughing. "You guys done yet?" I asked, annoyed. They nodded their heads, amusement still showing all over their faces.
"This is why I'm anti-social." I stated. I put a sleeping Princess down and sat criss cross gesturing for the other two to sit in front of me. Alex sat right in front of me, and Abby sat facing both of us from the side.
"That's gonna have to change." Alex stated. "Yeah, New House, New Life." Abby agreed.
