"Daniels, why don't you ever talk?" Silence. "You know, your mother is getting really worried here. Even if you don't want to talk to her, at least talk to me."

The young boy named Daniels looked up at the therapist with his blue eyes. "Too hard." He simply said before putting his head back down and going back to silence.

The therapist shook his head then leaned back in his seat. "Daniels, oh Daniels. Whatever will I do with you?"

"WHY DOESN'T MY OWN SON EVER SPEAK?! WAS IT SOMETHING I DID? DID I RAISE MY BABY THE WRONG WAY?! TELL ME N-." The mother was quickly cut off as the therapist turned and back handed her. Daniels mother went flying and soon felt her back smash up against a book shelf.

"You just don't understand him. Not like I do. I've been seeing this boy since he was merely six years old. You never spend as much time with him as I do." Closing his mouth after the last word was spoken, he then put his back to the mother as the sound of toppling books filled the room. It was quiet when the shelf fell on top of her. That was good, he didn't want to deal with any issues.

Daniels lifted his head from its hanging position when he heard the door open then close. He raised an eyebrow when he saw the therapist but not his mother. "Where?"

In reply, the therapist simply said, "Dead. Now I will take care of you. You only get three questions, so that's one."

Daniels opened his mouth to say more but then quickly shut it as quickly as he opened it. He'd save his last two for when he truly needed answers. For now, he'd live with what he was given. At this point, he was now sixteen and had quite the body build too. Big arms, with slightest of muscles as well as strong legs. He wasn't built to the fullest he could be though. In time, that would change, the sixteen year old would soon become like that of a small dog, built for killing at its youngest age. Strong, big in muscles and height, silent, and obedient.

After years passed and Daniels reached the age of nineteen, he was kicked from the therapists home and was told to go out on his own. That he did and he didn't regret it either. For each day he was alone, he learned something new and by the end of two days, he had mastered it and moved on to the next challenge.

"Daniels? That is your name. Correct? I am Leonard Church, and I would like to see if you have what it takes to be a Freelancer. Oh, and your name is now Maine. Assuming you get in, of course."

Maine lifted his head, a E.V.A. style helmet over his head and nothing more but a tank top and black shorts on his body. "Too easy." He said.
