A note from 22 year old me ~
I wrote this between the ages of 12-14, please keep that in mind if you choose to read this. I haven't read it in years. I can't bring myself to since I know it'll be cringe worthy. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Back to the past ~
(A/N: So I have completed this fanfiction, and I have gone through chapters and edited them, as my writing had improved a little since I started this. I have only edited a couple of the chapters, the chapters I have NOT edited have huge paragraphs and are poorly written. So around chapter 9 it'll get confusing as I have not edited those chapters. When short paragraphs start coming into the chapters, that's where my writing had started improving. So yeah, it'll be a little confusing, but I hope you like this fanfiction☻ so here is Shifting.)
"Autumn get up you're gonna miss your flight to London!"
I open my eyes to the blistering sun beaming through my window, I squinted my eyes not wanting to get out of bed, I let out a loud moan of frustration at my mother for waking me up.
"Mom you realize I set an alarm right?" Don't you hate it when your parents get you up before your alarm goes off? I sure do.
"Well I just thought you'd have more time to spend with us before you go, besides, it's not like I'll be able to walk to your house, you'll be in London!" Ya ya ya, London London London, that's all I've heard for the past couple months, it's not that big of a deal I'm moving there, right?
"Fine I'll get up, but only because I smell bacon and eggs." Curse my grumbling stomach.
"Yay! Now get dressed do your hair and makeup, and be down stairs in half an hour, alright?"
"Whatever." And with that, she was gone in a flash. I can't believe she got me up so early, it's like 11AM! Ya that's early for me.
I got up and put on a pair of black leggings, along with a big white knitted sweater, slipping on whatever old pair of sneakers I could find. I put my hair in a high ponytail and quickly put some eyeliner and mascara on. Good enough.
I ran down the stairs, well, walked fast down the stairs and went straight to the kitchen, sure enough there was bacon and eggs there, my favorite.
"Morning princess" my dad greeted me with a friendly smile.
"Morning" I smiled back. I sat down at the table and looked at my phone, sure enough my Instagram, Twitter, and iMessage were blowing up with things like "I'm gonna miss you" or "call me when you get to London" stuff like that, I sighed and took a bite of my bacon. Man I wish I had at least one friend coming with me... Oh well.
"So, are you excited?" My dad questioned me looking up from the newspaper.
"Totally! Just a little upset that's all, I'm really gonna miss you guys." I looked down trying not to show my now glossy eyes.
Don't cry it'll mess up your makeup, don't cry it'll mess up your makeup.
"Aww we're gonna miss you too honey," my mom said walking over to me, arms open with tears streaming down her face. I don't blame her, there won't be kids in the house anymore for her I guess. I walked up to her also and took her embrace, sniffling and shaky breaths being exchanged. We stood there for awhile, until I let go and walked back over to the table. I ate my food not daring to look up, knowing that if I did I'd just end up crying even more. And then, I heard a car honk outside, sending shivers all down my body. Finally my father spoke up.
"Well, guess you have to go now," he said knowing my older brother was here to drive me to the airport. That's when my father, surprisingly, started crying. We hugged and said our goodbye's, and with that, I left.
"So, how's my little sis today huh?" Troy, my older brother, asked while I buckled my seatbelt in.
"Just fine, cause you know, I totally wasn't just crying." Note the sarcasm. I could see a smirk quickly appear on his face as he drove out of the driveway. I smiled at him and turned my phone on deciding to listen to music, I put my favorite song on by Green Day, Basket Case.
I tapped my hand slightly on my knee while humming along to the music. When it got to the chorus, a horrible sound erupted throughout the car, Troy's voice.
"SOME TIMES I GIVE MYSELF THE CREEPS," he yelled along to the song, obviously being able to hear it through my headphones. I chuckled at Troy's little scene. Man, I was going to miss him.
Before I knew it, we were at the airport. And thankfully, I had my own private jet, so I had no need to worry about getting to sit next to some slob. Fortunately, my family is what some would call, well off.
"K sis, all your stuff is already at your house in London, so I guess all you have right now is your phone?"
"Yep!"
"Haha ok, damn I'm gonna miss ya! Well have a good flight and don't forget to call me when you land!"
"Haha ok bye Troy, I love you!"
"Love you too." We hugged and said goodbye, and then before I knew it, I had no one around me that I knew. I looked for the person holding the sign with my name on it, eventually spotting it. I walked up to the guy with the sign that said 'Autumn Parker' on it, we greeted each other then went to my private jet where the pilot was. I took a seat, put my music on, and fell into a deep sleep while listening to Green Day.
