"I'm home!" The slightly tired girl shouts, after long day back at school. Well, it was the first day back since summer break.
"Leah? Mom? Hello..? Is anyone home?" Liana calls out again. "Of course not," she thinks to herself before checking her phone.

Noticing she has a new text, she opens the message while entering her room.

Liana, sweetie, your sister is spending the night at her friend's house and I won't be getting home till at least tomorrow morning. Sorry, honey, my boss wants to keep me late but I left your dinner in the fridge. ~Love, Mom

"Great," Liana sighs before falling back onto her bed. "Now what am I suppose to do? I'm home alone.." She ponders for a bored few moments before springing into a sit-up position.

She has the perfect idea. She dives for her guitar and marches downstairs to put on her shoes. She was going to go sing: it always relieves her mind.

Liana gives Jojo a kiss on his head before she goes outside. She goes to sit on a rickety bench they had since she was nine, but notices the dust and dirt all over it. "Whoa, mom needs to wipe this thing more often. Gross.." she cringes before running her hands over the bench, wiping off all the yuck that was on it.

"Okay. Ah, what song..?" She taps her chin as she flips through the songs with lyrics on her phone. Liana searches for a good few minutes before noticing the new guy that had moved in across the street.
He looks her direction with a sweet smile before going inside his house and closing the old wooden door, which all the houses on the road had. Liana suddenly feels butterflies in her stomach, which occurs often: when she sees him, or even when she thinks about him.

Then the perfect song came to her mind. She relates him, and herself, to the song Anchor. She tunes her guitar for a minute, closes her eyes and starts singing.

(A/N. Idk, a lot of people hear the words differently so I just put the lyrics here and the real video. Sorry, back to the book XD)

As Liana finishes singing, her eyes still closed, she takes a deep breath, feeling the fresh summer breeze cut through her long, red hair.

"That was amazing, you're really good," an unfamiliar, but kind. vocie states.
Her eyes quickly shoot open to lock with a pair of mysterious, yet beautiful hazel. It was that new guy she saw moving in the other day.

"Oh, that? ..Ah, thanks," Liana says, getting up and setting her guitar down beside the bench, the wooden neck leaning on the rusty metal arm. "So, not to sound rude or anything, but what are you doing here?" she questions the curly haired boy, clearing her throat with a cough.

"Uh," he lets out a small snicker. "My dad says 'I'm lonely' and I need to make friends, so he told me to come introduce myself. Yeah, he's kind of a control freak, but he's cool." He chuckles again and Liana can't help but smile. She couldn't understand what it was about his laugh she loves.

"Well, I was gonna make cookies." "That's a lie," she spits at herself in her mind. "Would you like to join me?" she nervously bites her bottom lip. "No, you idiot. Snap out of it. He doesn't like you, you just met him! Why do you like him so much, because he's a catch? Your ship will just be a sadder version of the Titantic." She sighs. "But he's your anchor.."

Waiting for his reply, Liana doesn't have to count grass. "Sure, I'd love that." He gives her a small smile before they head inside. He sits down by the counter while she ransacks the cabinets for the cookie batter.

"Hey, I play guitar and sing, but you're pretty better than me though...but maybe we could play together sometime?" he says it more like a question, breaking the akward silence "Yeah sounds cool," she smiles. They talk about each other: where he's from, how long Liana's been in Toronto. He says a dumb joke, and they both break out laughing.

"Oh, uh, what's your name, by the way? Sorry I didn't ask eariler," she states, rubbing the back of her neck. "Daniel," he replies with a smile, which Liana happily returns.

The oven beeper echos the kitchen, and when they both reach for the oven mits, Daniel's hand overlaps Liana's. She looks up at him. He looks down at her. Daniel curls his fingers around her hand as they stare, lost in each other's eyes. ...Until they were unexpectedly interrupted by someone walking in the house. "What's going on here!"

"Oh, no..." Liana mutters to herself,
