To say that Sasha was mad would be an understatement. She was furious. Unlike any normal person who would have left and came back later, she was the one person who let herself, and Kass, in.
They waited, and waited, and waited for me. When I saw her little Mitsubishi Galant parked in my driveway, I knew my face had palled considerably.
“You, um. Don't have to stay.” I mumbled quietly, know I was going to get the third degree for forgetting about her, again.
“What kind of a guy would I be if I let you face the evil woman by yourself?”
“Women. There's two of them, I'm just scared more of Sasha. Kassidy isn't as hot headed or... violent.” My mind raced back to when we were in junior high and Sasha got into a big fight with this other cocky girl. Needless to say she was almost arrested, and the other girl was classified as a victim even though she was provoking Sasha. Anger problems? I think so.
“Even better.” He sent me a huge smile, and got out of my car and shut the door loudly.
I hissed at him, “Way to draw attention that we're here!” I tried to keep my voice quiet, but I knew the two angry girls would be outside in two seconds, or they would be two feet from the front door waiting for me. What they didn't know was that I had reinforcements. By that I mean another body to main and bury.
No sooner did I twist the knob on the door I was being screamed at: “You bitch!” and “Dawn Maria!” I knew who's voice belonged to who.
“Hey girls... I brought someone home?” I tried to put on a casual smile, but I knew my face looked like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
“Hey new kid.” Sasha.
“Hi there! I'm Kassidy.” She was always the nicer one to people she didn't know...
“Hey. I'm Alex.” He gave them both the same smile that I got when I first met him. I felt him come up beside me and brushed his hand against mine. “You must be Sasha.” he looked at her, it wasn't a question, it was a statement.
“So I see D was getting cozy with you while we were here waiting for hours.” I could hear the venom dripping from her voice. Oops.
“Stop being so mean Sash.” Kass scolded, batting her eyelashes at Alex.
“I was helping him move-in. And I'm really sorry about forgetting...” I was hoping she would let me off easy, I was not in the mood or possible physical state to have her pissy at me.
Speaking of physical state, I haven't told them about what happened with Chance. As far as they know, I woke up alone the next morning with a hangover. Now that Alex was here though, I couldn't say anything. Damn it. I knew they would be so upset if I didn't tell them anything soon, but I couldn't bring myself to tell them before I knew if it was really true or not.
I was hoping for the latter.
“Don't do it again, you know how I hate to wait.” With this, Sasha's face turned upwards in a grin, as she grabbed my hand and dragged me to the living room. “I figured after a long Monday at school, we need to play some X box.” Figures, she was such a gamer chic. We all liked to play with the guns on Black Ops, but I couldn't me and Kass were good at it. Sasha was a legend in our eyes at it.
In fact, I think she won some money from a tournament once. A couple hundred dollars for playing video games? I'm totally in.
Alex let out a yip of excitement when he saw the 55 inch TV hanging on my wall. I think he would've hugged it if he knew us all better. “You like games?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. I figured since he was on a farm or whatever with his grandfather he wouldn't even know how to hold a controller.
