Bree

I woke up at 6:30 and decided to get ready for school. I showered, washed my hair and brushed my teeth before I put on deodorant and lotion. Even though my family was broke most of my checks went to clothes and makeup so I wasn't a badly dressed bitch by any means.

I decided to keep it simple and put on some ripped American Eagle jeans, a white and red polo v neck and my favorite red timberlands with the matching beanie. I put on my gold necklace my mom got me when I was 10 and sighed. I felt so hopeless when it came to her. I was sad that she isn't the woman I grew up with and angry that she isn't strong enough for us to take care of me after what happened.

I brushed the bad thoughts away and put on a little eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss before spraying my curly hair with coconut oil and putting my beanie back on. I went in my Nike duffle bag and grabbed my black bomber jacket and threw it on while grabbing my black mk purse I'd gotten for Christmas last year.I was about to walk out when I realized I didn't know where I was. I remember it being dark when we got here last night so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to walk around lost.

I went downstairs and saw Hakeem eating a apple and watching spongebob and laughing, then he stopped and stared at me. "Um.. can you take me to school.. please?" I managed to stutter out. I have to admit this boy was fine but a condo at our age ? He obviously is doing something illegal for it and I can't stay around when the Mexicans start beating down his door for some money or because he started selling in their neighborhood. Even then though, he's still cute to look at but not to live with full time.

"Yeah ma let me go get my keys." He stood up revealing that he was dressed too and walked to another part of the condo. I walked around the place and looked at pictures. A few with Ms Fatima and a few with a little baby girl. She looked a lot like Hakeem but not much like Ms Fatima. I scrunched up my face thinking that Ms Fatima had been single for years so I don't think baby girl and Hakeem are full blood siblings.. are they ?

"Her names Nala" I jumped at Hakeem's deep voice behind me. "She's 5 months and my baby sister. Cute huh?" I nodded my head and turned and looked back at her. "Same dad ?" I asked curiously. No reason to beat around the bush now. He saw how fucked up my family was last night so anything he says won't be a surprise. "Nah, I got on my moms nerves a lot when she was pregnant though." I laughed with him not knowing what else to do. "Let's get out here though before we late." he said turning around towards the door.

I followed him even though I still wondered. It feels like I've seen that baby before.

I sat at the breakfast table with Hassan and Ahmir and it was quiet as shit. Hassan had his head in some book while Ahmir was entertaining some bitch on his lap that's definitely wasn't Tanya. I rolled my eyes and wondered why I was even at this bitch. It was Keems dumb ass idea that we all show up for Friday like that's supposed to mean something. I don't even show up unless Ahmir does and that's because he's good entertainment in class when he gets into it with the teachers or the nerds.

I looked up and the double doors and saw Keem walk in with the fine ass waitress from last night hot on his trail. She held a bag that was way too nice for a waitress salary, I should know because my mom is a waitress herself and barely affords the Jordan's my little brothers beg her for. As she came closer I saw it was one of those Michael Kors bags that the girls here would kill for, wasn't a fake either. Believe me going to school here I see enough of those.

"Was gud kid?" Keem said coming up and dapping me while the girl, Bree I think, sat down by Hassan. "Was gud. What you get into last night?" I said leaning back in my seat by Ahmir while the little bitch in his lap giggled at some weak shit he whispered in her ear. I shook my head while I eyed Tawny for across the room. She was sitting with her friends laughing while she rubbed her growing stomach. They passed around the sonogram pictures. I wasn't tripping though, I had a few in my wallet. 16 more weeks and the little kid would be here and spending my money. I wasn't worried about that though, because when Tawny hit 30 weeks she was moving with me in the same neighborhood as Keem with her mom and stepdad and out of Heartbreak.
