AN/ Hey there! So this one's pretty short but it's a little something for those few people I saw that have read it so far. I'm going to *TRY* and update weekly on Sundays sometime, although I don't know how long that will last. I will try what I can. With that said, don't forget about that vote button if you liked it, lemme know!! - Raven

Chapter 2
Care to explain what that was all about, Echo?
We were back in a small cave in the underwater mountain that we called home. The walls were covered in the bioluminescent colors that were scattered throughout the Azinzan city, but that was the only thing light in the situation I now found myself in. Thankfully it was only Tycho and I for the moment, but I knew it was approaching the time that our father, and possibly sisters, would be arriving home.
I was... exploring
Tycho's eyes went wide before he narrowed them dangerously. Tycho was never scary to me, we were too close for that, but I did feel a thrill of shame course through my body at his look.
Tell me you weren't around the sunken ship again, Echo.
No... I mean not exactly. I stammered, unable to meet his orange gaze any longer.
What does that mean?
Well, before I could get to it, a Mako chased me away, evidently I swam into its territory.
Tycho gave me an exasperated look, pinching the bridge of his nose between his sharp-nailed fingers.
None of the others girls were as much trouble as you, even at your age, he grumbled, letting me hear his thoughts.
But I'm still your favorite I said with a grin.
This is not a joke, Echo.
My grin faded away, hearing the snap of his voice. I knew he was just worried about me and was still worked up from meeting the prince himself, I know I was, but it didn't make the situation any easier between us.
Please, just... try to behave alright? You heard the Prince, he said he may call on any of us within the next few moon cycles. Don't do anything rash, especially if he does decide to punish you someway. Even if he decides to punish me as I had asked in turn for your protection. You will only disgrace the family name and my chances of becoming a guard.
I know, Tycho. I'm... I'm sorry for leaving again. It's just that things from the surface world are so fascinating. I know I will never get to go up there, nor do I really want to with all of the scary stories I've heard about the surface dwellers themselves, but their contraptions are intriguing, don't you think?
I care little for those who live in the dry world above or their contraptions. And you would do well to think the same way. They are brutal up there, you've heard the stories of the wars and slavery they have up there, right? Focus your mind on the world down here where you belong.
And yet why do I feel like something isn't right with my life yet? I thought privately, not allowing any portion of it to escape to Tycho.
For the time being, I will only tell Father to be on the watch for any messages sent from His Deepness. I do not claim to know the extent or nature of what he will call for, but no matter the request you will obey it. Is that understood, Echo?
