♡Anriette's POV♡
Well... Niall and I have been only dating for a year, and yet already rumors are spreading about him cheating on me. Most of the rumors I know aren't true, some of them I think aren't true, but there's one I have trouble thinking is just a rumor. Some of the fans made sure to make it even more grueling by sending me pics of Niall and his 'new girl' constantly.
I sat on the windowsill in Niall's room, waiting anxiously for him to return home. There were small drops of dew and mist on the window, as it was a rather chilly day outside. I watched every car screech down the street, every headlight click as the vehicle sped off on an adventure, until finally the van returned. On a normal day, I would have greeted him when he pulled up, embracing him in a warm hug and a loving kiss, but not today. Today I needed to know that he was mine, and only mine, and I can't touch him until I know how he truly feels about me.
"Anriette?" He called, when he saw that I wasn't waiting for him in the living room.
"I'm fine. I'm in here," I whispered, just loud enough for them to hear me. He opened the door and saw me sitting there, staring out the window, showing no emotion when he entered the room.
"Are you okay, love? What's wrong?" he asked, sitting on the edge where there was room for him next to me.
"Ha. Nothing. Nothing's wrong at all, Niall. Just this," I said, showing him all the messages on my phone.
"Haha. People these days," he laughed, handing the phone back to me.
"Really, Niall? Or is it boyfriends these days?" I asked, raising my voice a bit as I read the messages out loud to him.
"Anriette..." he pleaded, grabbing my hand gently. "You can't possibly believe these rumors are true! You know Directioners, you're one yourself! I mean, these pictures are like a few years old anyways. It's nothing, babe."
"But Niall... I gave you the shirt you're wearing in the pictures a few weeks ago," I whispered, jerking my hand away from him.
"What are you implying?" he asked, standing up.
"That you're lying, Niall," I replied, crossing my arms and standing so I was almost level with him in my presence, even though he was much taller than me.
"You're calling me a cheater?"
"I guess I am."
"Ha. You seriously think I would cheat on you..."
"What else am I supposed to think? Can you prove otherwise?"
Niall clucked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and cocked his head to the side.
"Just tell me why, Niall?" I asked shakily, looking away from him.
"I never did..."
"Don't lie to me. I know you had something for this girl, didn't you?" I yelled, and he looked away from me. "No, look at me. Didn't you, Niall?!"
"You know what? Yeah, I did, Anri!" he yelled. "I thought that girl was hot. I thought she was hot, and you weren't around, so yeah. I had a tiny thing for her. But--"
"There's no 'but' Niall! You're the first boyfriend I ever had and I ever dreamed of having, and you confess to cheating on me a year in?" I was almost screaming at him, and he picked up my tone and barked back the most punishing words that could ever escape his perfect lips to me:
"If you're so jealous, why don't you just go knock on Harry's door, then!" Niall screamed, and I stumbled back in shock. My cheeks burned hot and my eyes watered as his words rang in my ears. My jaw was dropped open and it took me for a second to think of anything to say or do; like I had forgotten how to breathe in that instant.
