I dance
I sing
I eat and sleep
To my heart's content
I do
What makes me happy
I don't worry
About my past
No, not even the future
I believe
I dwell
In the present
What I am doing
Is wonderful
Than what I was
Than what I will
Heartbreaks
Yes
That's a part of my life
But I don't
Allow them
To mess with me,
To break my heart,
To rip my soul
I just eat pizza
Drink beer
No not beer
I like more
The whiskey
I dance
I sing
Oh wait
I mentioned that before
Also one thing
That I wrote was
To my heart's content
I do
What makes me happy
I work
I cook
Or can afford a cook
I celebrate
I drink
I tolerate no filth
On my desk
Or in my sink
At times fat
And at times thin
Depends on my mood
So I run or do yoga
I lift weights
Oh gosh
You got to see me
Do that
When my best friend
Needs me
I am at her service
Pasta
Latte or Tequila
Who cares
My eyes are black
Brown
Many shades
Deep and almond shape
I wear lenses
Spectacles and shades
And at times
I hate my nose
Thoughts lead me
To write
Humour
Drama
Romance
Name anything
My escape
I can find in any
A badass
Unapologetic
Whimsical and Petulant
I can be all of these
For those five days
Remember please
I crave candies
I ride a bike
I fly a plane
Injections and wax
I take that all
I keep a me inside me
I respect I adore
Love is my weakness
Love is my strength
The world is me
I am the flowers
The air and the rain
I love the me in me
A glass of wine
Confetti in my hair
But wait
What am I so caught up with
When I should be
My biggest celebration.
Author's note:
The reason of writing this poem in the first person singular is that I wanted each and every girl, each and every woman to feel that she is reading her story. I wanted her to relate to it and smile when she found that sentence in the poem to which she connected the most.
Ladies, in the comments, you can copy paste the phrase to which you relate yourself the most! And if you are a guy, write that phrase from the poem in which you see your bestie, your mom, sister, girlfriend or wife...
