Jin pov
"Why isn't Jimin allowed in the room with me?" I ask the big burly police man sitting across the table from me. He scratches his stubbly chin full of razor bumps before opening his mouth to speak.
"We want to know your side of the story without any influence from your brother."

Jimin pov
"M-my side of the story?" I eye the huge man in front of me as my armpits begin to sweat. I've never been held for questioning before and all I want to do is leave...run.
"Yeah, so just tell me how you got that busted lip you're sporting?" My fingers brush against my lip, grazing over the scab that's begun to form.
"Um..."
Jin pov
"Mr. Seon and Mrs.Seon had a complex marriage so to speak." I start off. The police officer only motions with his hands for me to continue so I do. "Mrs. Seon was seeing some other guy and Mr. Seon was aggravated by that. It happened two days ago when the worst of his abuse took place before..."
"Okay, well tell me about that."
Jimin pov
I close my eyes trying to gather my nerves. I don't want to think about it. I want to completely erase it from my head. "There was this thump against our door like something had been thrown into it and Jin got off his bed to check it out. When he opened the door we saw that it was Mrs. Seon... it was like one minute he was- choking her then trying to throw a lamp at Jin."
"Wait, slow down. Tell me how it got to that point." The officer says, taking interest in my statement and pulling his seat closer to the table.
Jin pov
"I got Mr. Seon to stop choking Mrs. Seon and made her leave the house, but then his attention was focused on me. I saw that he was going to hit me with the lamp that was in the living room so I ran back to the room that I share with Jimin and locked us in."
"And that was after her punched you in the chest?" I nod my head. "So if that's all that happened. How did you get the bruise on your jaw?"
I breath out.
Jimin pov
"We left early the next morning to avoid Mr. Seon which seemed like a bright idea at the time, but then when we got back... if we didn't leave we would have been killed, I'm sure."
I gulp as the officer takes a second to soak everything in. My eyes shift from his yellowing teeth to the one way mirror behind him. Please let me go...
Jin pov
"He threw me against the couch and started kicking Jimin- that's how he got that busted lip and how I sprained my wrist. I knew that if I didn't do something quick Jimin would have been beaten to death so I knocked Mr. Seon to the floor. After that we walked to our school which is 45 minutes away and that's when I met Yoongi, a friend of Jimin's, parents. I knew it was wrong to use them but we couldn't go back to that house after what just happened."
My mouth is dry and my whole body is exhausted from being here and having to give my account. All I want to do is find Jimin and leave this awful place. "One more question, did you see Mrs. Seon anytime that night?"
I close my eyes tightly and try to remember when a sudden image flashes through my head. "When we fled, Mrs. Seon was calling out for us to come back. she must have been coming back from where ever she went the day before." All he does is nod his head before pushing his chair back. He's almost out the door when I call out, "Hey, is that it?"
"Yeah." Then the door slams.
Jimin pov
"C-can I ask you something?" He gives me a curious look and raises his eyebrows. "Did he- did he kill her?"
"Luckily no, but she did sustain so much damage to her body that when we came she was barely recognizable. Not with all that blood," He answers making my throat close up. "We'll have to see if she makes it over the night though."
Tears prick my eyes as I think of the what ifs...
If we had stayed we could have helped her- saved her.
If we had stayed we could have called for help.
We could have warned her not to go inside when we left.
We could have-
"You can go see you're brother." The officer informs as he interrupts my stream of thoughts. I can see Jin? He holds the door open for me and I slowly force my weak legs to move. Yeah, that's what I wanted- to see Jin.
I make my way to another office and see Jin sitting at yet another table talking to a women with a grey suit on and a neat bun in her hair. She must be a social worker. I push the door open, making both their attentions land on me.
"Oh great, you're done. Now, I can tell you what I told your brother here." She points to Jin as I pull up a seat next to him.
"What is she talking about?" When I look at his face my whole body seizes up. His skin is as white as paper and his eyes stare straight ahead like he can't bare to see my face. I turn back to her. "What did you have to tell me?"
She lets out a deep puff of air before explaining. "You see, since neither one of your foster parents are fit to take care of you, we have to assign the two of you to a new home." She pauses and gives me a serious look. "The only problem is there is no place available that can house two people. That's why Jin here will be sent to live with another family willing to open their doors to one more child and you will be sent back to that group home, Flowers of hope. We..."
Every word after that goes in one ear and out the other. We're going to be separated? We can't be- not again. Not there...please not there. "Is there a way for me to go to the same place as Jin? Can you possibly ask them if-"
"No, this is final. You two will be heading over to your new homes after I finish filling out some paper work." I sink lower in my seat because it feels like a ton of bricks have hit my body. I barely register her leaving until Jin taps my shoulder and gets my attention.
"I know this isn't the best, but I promise that everything will be okay? Please, don't worry. This is only temporary." Jin rubs my arm up and down as I stare into the distance. "Jimin... are you listening."
"Yeah." I clear my throat and give him the best smile I can conjure up. "I'll be fine. We went through this before...don't worry about me." Jin chews the inside of his mouth not quite believing my words so I hug him tightly. "I can handle it."I whisper.
Jin hugs me back just as tight and says, "At least it's a place you're familiar with... I don't know who the heck these people could be."
"I'm sure they'll be great. They can't be half as bad as them." I reassure referring to the Seon's.
"Yeah, you're right." The door opens again to reveal the social worker again. "Hey, keep your head up."
"I will." Jin gets up from his chair and walks towards the door.
Don't leave me.
A/N Suspense, I loved alternating between the two in this chapter. I hope you all liked it and continue to read. Until next time deuces my burritos!
