I met with Colonel Phillips the next day.
"You'll be acting as a spy for the 107th," he said,"but to avoid identification, you'll be in disguise as a man."
I chuckled,"You do love to surprise me. Anything else I should know?"
"I have to take your weapons until the mission starts," he said simply.
"But," I started,"What if I get attacked? Or what if I need them? Did you think of that? I kind of like having them around. They offer a sense of security."
"This isn't a debate," he stated,"hand 'em over."
I handed over my two most prized possessions; My M1911A1 (pistol), and my smatchet (large knife). I stalked away, only to see a line of new recruits, including Steve. I smiled and went in another direction so he wouldn't see me. I got ready easily, I cut my hair and put on some chest wraps. Then I put on a slightly padded uniform, and a voice modulator that was given to me by Stark. I just hoped it would work better than that car of his.
After I arrived where the 107th was camped, I was met by-I assume-one of their commanding officers.
"Barnes!" He called,"New recruit!"
I chuckled inwardly, I had been doing this longer then my brother by far.
"This is Sergeant James Barnes," the soldier addressed me.
"Sir," I greeted Bucky with a nod.
He seemed confused by my uniform. A black, high-collared jacket, and black pants and black boots. And nothing except a black knapsack, and an extra pair of boots.
"This is Agent William Quinn," the other soldier introduced me using my fake name,"He's your newest soldier. An excellent marksman and skilled in hand-to-hand combat. He'll be stealing information from the HYDRA base before we invade it. We'll need as much info as we can get. Make sure he's settled in, then get training."
He walked away, leaving me with Bucky, who looked a bit confused.
"If I may sir," I started,"he makes It more complicated than it is," I paused, and turned to him,"Agent William Quinn professional thief, liar, and assassin at your service."
I acted as if I was tipping a hat to him, and he chuckled softly. Then he said,"I think you'll fit in well around here. But, may I ask what the Captain meant by get training.
I lit up like a Christmas tree, and exclaimed,"Oh, I nearly forgot! I'm supposed to help you and your men with some hand-to-hand lessons!"
