The next day, Quinn's class was brutal. He told us we needed to learn as much as possible because we wouldn't see him for a couple weeks. He had us practice rolling, dodging, countering, and all the stuff we learned the day before. After all that, we did extreme conditioning for at least an hour. We had started around 6 in the morning and went till a little after noon. Once we went to lunch, Quinn was about to leave, but I convinced him to at least come eat with us.
Quinn left immediately after lunch to get ready. I found him in the barracks packing a map and some food into his small knapsack. He walked to greet me, but no sound came from his footsteps.
Noticing my confused expression he simply said,"Boots without heels are better for stealth. It's easier to go unnoticed if you don't make noise."
I nodded and he grabbed his weapons, putting them in their proper holsters. He then grabbed his knapsack. He slung it over his shoulder as he turned to me.
"Here to send me off?" He asked with no emotion.
"Had a feeling you would leave without saying goodbye," I replied.
"That was the plan," he answered flatly,"Goodbyes aren't my area of expertise."
"Well I couldn't let you do that ," I said.
Quinn sighed, then smirked and stuck out his hand. I grabbed it and pulled him into a friendly hug. He tensed, not expecting it. I pulled away sensing his discomfort.
"Just try not to die," I said, feeling protective over him. Even though we barely knew each other, it felt like I had known him my whole life. I continued,"Can't lose our spy, can we?"
Quinn have a nod and headed silently towards his ride. Then we was gone, we wouldn't see him for two weeks.

                              Jack/Quinn P.O.V.

I was not expecting Bucky to pull me into a hug. I don't do physical contact. Especially not when I'm pretending to be a man. I had originally planned to leave without a goodbye. That's just how things worked with me. I hadn't said goodbye to Steve either, and while I felt guilty for that, I knew he was joining Erskine's program.
I arrived and set up camp half a mile from the HYDRA base. I set up my radio, and called in for my last check in before the mission.
"This is Quinn, do you copy?"
"I copy, Quinn, what's your status?"
"I'm set up half a mile from the HYDRA base. I'm going in tonight after dark."
"Good, maintain radio silence until the mission's over, then radio in for extraction."
"This isn't my first rodeo, I know how this works."
