I was finished with getting ready. I just needed a few finishing touches. I got up and started walking towards the mirror in my room. At least I look decent... I started combing my hair gently. After I was done, I started to leave, when I stopped at the doorway.

"Can you and Bree show Jacob around the neighborhood?" I heard dad whisper to Nick.

Great, I thought, more time with Jacob... But why was dad whispering to Nick about showing the boy around? What was so secretive about it? To break the dead silence, I ran downstairs. As I took a step closer, a negative thought came through my mind....

"Are we ready dad?" I asked trying to fake my happiness.

   "Let's roll!"

As we stepped off of our front steps, my hands started to get cold. Great, one of my signs of anxiety. As I touched the door knob to close our door, I inhaled. When I closed the door, I exhaled. Its show time.

Ding dong.

"Coming!" I heard a voice from inside say.

When the door finally opened, in front of me I saw the same woman I had seen earlier, only she had on more formal clothes.

"Welcome in! For dinner I made a salad, pizza, pasta and m&m cookies! I hope that's all right with you, hopefully you two have enough room for all four, because Jacob, he can be really picky, " she said "Oh and which reminds me... Jacob! Come and greet our guests!"

A few seconds later, Jacob had come down. He was wearing a black shirt that said 'All I do is win' in green letters, with some ripped  jeans. He stepped closer so he could greet us. The first person he greeted was my dad, then Nick... Then me. But when he got to greet me, he didn't make eye contact with me...

He just shook my hand really quickly then wiped his hands on his jeans... Maybe he's not the one for me after all...

We all headed to their table to eat dinner after Jacob had greeted us. Their table had 6 chairs. Jacob's mom sat at one end, while dad sat at the other end. Now for the kids... Alex and Nick sat on one side, while me and Jacob sat on the other...

I snook a glance at Jacob and could tell by his facial expression that he was feeling REALLY uncomfortable. I was doing so much thinking that I didn't notice that Jacob's mom had already served me a bowl of salad.

After we all finished our salad, Mrs. Sartorius served us pasta and pizza. I wasn't really hungry because my anxiety had taken over... I only took 3 bites out of the pizza and 2 forkfuls of the the pasta.

The conversation the grown ups had was pretty boring, so I decided to spice it up a bit.

"Mrs. Sartorius, would you like me to show Jacob around?"

"Be very careful with my baby."

   "M-o-o-o-m!" groaned Jacob.

"Come on," I whispered to him.

We went out the back door and the air was so fresh. Their backyard was actually pretty neat considering they had just moved in. As we walked, he kept putting his hands through his hair which made him even more cute.

"So what do ya wanna show me?" He asked sounding unimpressed and uninterested.

Without saying a word I grabbed him by the hand. I turned to look back at him and put a finger against my lips as if I was saying "shh." Then I looked forward. Still holding him by the hand, we went further and further away from his house. When we finally reached a little hill, I motioned for us to climb.
