the thick layer of fog was still not enough to cover up the pain written all over jimins face as he stared sadly at the spot on the ground that his father had been buried in. his limited family members stood beside him, all dressed in black. numb. jimin felt nothing, nothing at all. it scared him, though, because arent you supposed to be sad when your father dies? arent you supposed to cry? then, why didnt he feel that way? of course, in the end, he will always be his father, but jimin will not miss him. he wont miss the stale stench of alcohol lingering in his house or his rough hands slapping him hard. he wont miss any of it.
yoongi scrambled through the cemetery, slipping slightly on one of the tombstones and scuffing the knee of the suit he had pulled on. he didnt even know why he was there in the first place, jimin hadnt even asked him to come to the funeral. he pretended that it didnt hurt him. he cursed under his breath, wondering if the funeral was over already. he then started up a jog again, not knowing where exactly he was going but hoping to find jimin as soon as he possibly could. everything here looked the same to him, each tombstone, each statue. like being stuck in a maze, almost.
jimin continued to stand stiff in his place long after the service was finished, and his family had all left. he continued to stand, skin covered in the itchy, large suit he had dressed himself in. he hadnt lifted his eyes even once since the moment they lowered his fathers coffin into the ground and covered it with piles of soil. eventually, something switched in him, and he all of a sudden decided that he had enough of standing still in this god forsaken graveyard. so, he ran. he ran all the way to the entrance of the cemetery, the entire place all of a sudden closing in and suffocating him. he just wanted to get out.
jimin was running so fast, he hadnt even realized there was another boy in front of him until he was knocking into him full on. they collided chests and the force pushed them both backwards, before jimin realized that it had been yoongi. they stared at each other in shock for a moment, time standing still. and before jimin could even think about saying anything, yoongi grabbed him by the back of his neck and pulled him into the crook of his shoulder, holding him tightly in his arms. jimin cried for what seemed like hours into yoongis shoulder, before he was all out of tears.
when jimin pulled away, he just looked yoongi in the eyes and hoped that he could understand that he just wanted to be alone for a little while. he then turned away without another word, and left. yoongi stood in his place, and watched jimins back as he walked off in the direction of his home. yoongi did understand jimin, even without words. he always had, even when they were kids. so instead of running after him, like he wanted to so much, he just turned on his heal and went home. he should've gone after him.
jimin didnt know what he was doing. he was dizzy with grief, his mind hazy and his body heavy with the yearning for sleep. he stood near the cliffs edge, the wind in his hair and the clouds in his eyes. he squinted into the breeze and took a daring step forward, his ears filled with the low crashing of the waves against the rocks below. he took one last look to the sky, and thought about his yoongi. his beautiful, wonderful, yoongi. childhood friend, one true love, his everything, it seemed. "i love you with my entire heart, min yoongi." he whispered into the sky above, before he allowed the waves below to swallow him whole, his mind still on the beautiful pale boy even as his body sunk to the bottom of the sea.
