Haunting In Digha( On Hold)

Chapter 7

The next morning I was woken up by Payel. She made a irritating noise and disturbed my sleep. I became very much angry for that but they all reminded me my duty to make custard  for them . Bloody hell!! I had no interest to go to the kitchen at 8 am . But all of my protests and anger failed and they sent me into the kitchen. I lit the gas burner and started . I prepared the milk and placed the pan on burner . Suddenly a liquid fell on the milk from ceiling . I looked up but there was nothing. This liquid was red in colour . I thought to change the milk then another drop fell . I poured the milk into sink   but this time the red liquid  dropped on my hand . I observed it carefully . It smelt like blood . Blood? But  is it really blood or my mistake? I was lost in my thoughts and my reverie was broken by Bedo.
"Hey Sam!!! What are doing  yet ? We are hungry . Is the custard ready?"
" Where is Pam ?" I knew that Bedo is useless in this matter  so I decided Pam.
" Pam ! But the custard?"
"It can't be made. "
"W-What ? But why?"
At that time Debomita and Ipsita entered in the kitchen . Debomita looked at Bedo and then asked me ," What happened?  What about the custard?"
"Three drop of blood fell on it"
"What! Three drop of blood!!"
"Yeah. But I don't know the source."
They all looked at me and became speechless.  That made a pin drop silence there. But suddenly Bedo bursted into laughter                      

which almost stirred all of us.
"Ha !ha!ha! What a joke! ha!ha! Sam , my friend , just say straightforward that you don't know the preparation of custard. We shall say you nothing and......"
"Shut up nonsense!!!" I don't saw that Pam had already come . She went to the burner and then come again .
"Are you sure that it was blood?"
"I am sure . But it was falling from the top but when I looked at the roof I found nothing."
Bedo always had a problem that she could not keep her mouth stop more than five minutes .So again said,
"What ? Raining in a sunny day without clouds!!! Suspicious."
"Do you stop your mouth . It's a serious problem ." Debomita said "The Van driver said that it's a haunted house but I did not believe then . Now if Sampriti don't lie I think it is really haunted."
I was going to say about my experience of last two days but then from somewhere we heard Madhu's scream . At that time Mona and Asmita came running towards us. They seemed very much  frightened .
" What happened? Why are you looking so worry ? We have heard Madhu 's cry , is she okay?"
Mona and Asmita took some time of be normal. They became sweaty and was panting heavily. Pritama and Laboni returned with Madhu holding her well . Ipsita also helped them to bring her . She had lost her sense so  we brought water and  after some time we could bring her back in sense. Then Asmita said us all about the incident.
"We went to the garden for walking , then  Mona saw that one of the window of our opposite cottage was opened. Last night I saw it was closed.
So we went there to see if any other tourists came here. But
when we reached there ...."
Asmita stopped breathing heavily .
"What happened then?" I wanted to know.
"What a terrible scene. Madhu had knocked out seeing that."
I  did not  wait . I rushed to outside to see the matter. Pam and Bedo came with me .
We went near  the window of the cottage and the scene we found just chilled our blood.
