Chapter 8

I woke up early the next day. I've decided to clean my room. Ever since kasi nakilala ko si Patrick, madalang na lang ako magstay sa room ko. I want to change the decorations and placement ng mga gamit ko. Pinalitan ko yung curtains ko, folded my clothes, and threw some unimportant things.

After hours of cleaning, i checked my phone and may 3 messages ako. 1 from Jess, 1 from Pat, and the other from my X-boyfriend, Joshua.

Jess: Eli!!!! Lets meet. Miss hanging out wit U.

Pat Gwapo <3: anong gngwa m?

Josh: eli, pls. Lets talk.

I'm not in the mood to deal with some dramas. So I texted Jesse to meet me at the mall.

Nasa department store kami ni Jess. Naghahanap ng handbag para daw may i-partner sya sa dress nya. Fashionista talaga si Jess. Opposite kaming dalawa.

After naming magshopping (actually siya lang, wala man akong binili) we decided to go for a coffee.

Nung makaorder na kami narealize ko na dahil hindi na kami masyadong nagkikita, hindi nya pa alam ang tungkol kay Patrick.

"Jess, may ikukuwento pala ako sa'yo. This is about Patrick."

"Patrick who?"

"Patrick Lee! Remember?"

"Patrick as in Patrick Lee who broke your heart when we were kids?"

"Oh shut up, Jess. Ang lakas ng boses mo."

"Whatever. Anong nangyari? Anong meron kay Patrick?"

Habang kinukwento ko sa kanya every details, minsan sumasabat siya. Inaaway ako kasi wala siyang kaalam-alam na bumalik na pala si Patrick sa buhay ko.

"I'm sorry, Jess. It all happened so fast. Kahit ako hindi makapaniwala sa mga nangyayari."

"But, Eli, please. Be careful this time. Its just a play. He is not serious about you."

"I know. I know. Gusto ko ng kumawala sa kaniya. But, can you blame me? I've wanted him for so long. And now, I have him."

"You have him, but you don't own him. You have him, but not his heart. Ikaw lang ang masasaktan in the end."

There was a silence after that. And somebody broke that silence. Its Joshua.

"Eli, can I talk to you, please?"

"Josh? What are you doing here? Jess, what is he doing here?" I know deep inside me na may kinalaman si Jess dito.

"I am sorry, Eli. I didn't know about you and Patrick. Kung alam ko lang."

"How could you, Jess!" I was ready to walk away when Josh grabbed my hand.

"Eli, please. Kausapin mo'ko."

"Josh, there's nothing to talk about."

"Marami tayong dapat pag-usapan. You didn't even give me a chance to explain, to defend myself."

"Just let me go, Josh. Ayoko ng marinig ang paliwanag mo. All you ever did was make excuses. You fed me your lies. You're a big effin' liar." Hinila ko arm ko pabalik and told Jess na aalis na'ko.

I can't believe her! Alam niya naman ang naramdaman ako about Josh cheating on me. How could she!

I was half-walking and half-running. Hindi ko alam saan ako pupunta. Gulong gulo isip ko. Hindi ko alam ano bang nagawa ko bakit ganito and kapalaran ko. Hindi ko ba talaga deserve ang love? Wala ba akong karapatang maging masaya? Bakit palagi na lang akong nasasaktan?
