I knew nothing good would come of Hana getting married and I was right. Instead of spending Thanksgiving break at home with mom and Hana, we are going over to the Namikaze residence to enjoy a family dinner. Kill me now.
Minato and Kushina both seem nice enough but even though Naruto and I are kinda friends, I still don't want to spend a whole evening with him in his house. That's why I decided that since Sakura and her father weren't leaving for the holiday that they should come too. The more the merrier right?
"Kiba will you please just change into something nicer?" Hana begs from my bedroom door.
I look down at my cargo pants and plain white t-shirt and frown. "I thought this was nice," I grumble not sure what else I can do to make myself look any more presentable than I already tried.
Hana groans loudly, "I swear to God Kiba, you better be on your best behavior. This is important to me." She pleas, obviously desperately seeking my cooperation.
I look up at Hana who looks stressed and nervous, realizing that this is probably the first time that she has met his family. Maybe just today I can not be a pain in her ass, so I decide to change the topic. "Kushina is his aunt, right?"
She sighs and leans against the door frame and bites her bottom lip in thought. "I think so, it's complicated. All I know is that she's been there for him so she's important."
I raise an eyebrow in a challenging way, wishing that I didn't default to a pain in the ass for once. "Don't you think you should know these things? I mean aren't you getting married soon?"
Hana rolls her eyes but before she has the chance to respond our mother calls out from the living room. "Kiba! Sakura is here, you better be ready!"
"Maybe she can help you get ready." She mutters before turning on her heel and leaving.
Sakura pokes her head into my room with a smile on her face. "Am I interrupting something?" She asks scrunching her nose in that adorable way she does when she thinks she may be interrupting a "family" moment.
I roll my eyes dramatically. "Not at all. Hana was just lecturing me about my clothes and behaving while we are over there." I reply in an annoyed tone.
Sakura chuckles as she looks me over, clearly knowing that Hana has left the task of dressing me to her. As she enters my room I feel like my heart skips a beat as I notice the white knee-length dress that hugs her waist perfectly and a thick ribbon tied in a perfect bow that rests provocatively on her hip. Though the top is covered in lace I can still see her bare shoulders underneath and I find myself wishing there were more lace and less dress.
"Wow, you look...a lot better than I do," I say unable to take my eyes off of her as she strolls over to my closet and takes a milk chocolate button-up shirt out.
Sakura bites her lip as she hands me the hanger and then proceeds to pull out a pair of dark blue jeans from the dresser. "Try these." She smiles, her cheeks slightly pink.
Is she blushing because of my compliment? I quickly slip the shirt on over my white t-shirt and when Sakura gives me her back I quickly change my pants, getting them buttoned just as she turns back around. Without a word, Sakura comes to me and begins to rolling the sleeves up to my elbow rather than buttoning them just proving how well she knows me.
"Thanks," I mumble as she finishes, catching her hand with one of my own. There have only been a few times when I have felt this way when I look at Sakura, this burning desire to show her just how much she means to me. In the past, though it's never ended well, acting on impulse like that so I smile instead. "You look beautiful."
Once again Sakura smiles up at me, a slight blush painting her face. "Our parents are waiting for us."
The last thing I want is for us to have to leave my room and this moment with Sakura but as if on cue the yelling starts. "Kiba if you are not done getting ready I am dressing you myself, underwear and all!" Hanna yells back to my room.
I roll my eyes and Sakura laughs. "We should get going. I'm sure it's not going to be that bad." She offers, taking my hand and tugging me out of my room and down the hall.
