The lunch hall was as crowded and noisy as ever. I had always loved it, a place to take a break and talk to acquaintances. Today I didn't have to discuss anything with anyone, so I sat alone at the end of the long lunch table, observing my other classmates. No one in particular caught my attention, sighing I went back to eating my peanut butter sandwich, silently.

I had a ton on my mind, so I never did mind being alone. The same annoying questions kept repeating in my mind. "Why was it necessary that he come to her? Why didn't he tell her he liked her earlier? Why now? These questions were like an annoying fly to me that would constantly keep biting and never leave me alone. I had to find something to distract myself, it had to be something exciting where I wouldn't be able to think, only concentrating on what I was doing. The gym, perfect idea. Normally I would go to my tree but today I didn't want to think, besides, I have an obstacle course to train for, I would just have to try everything despite the little time I have. Satisfied with my plans, I cleaned up my lunch and strode into the quiet, empty hallway. My shoes echoed off the tiled floor as I continued down the hallway, Past several doors before coming upon the gym. I noted that the doors where already open like someone had already entered. Usually there are chains and locks around them but today  the door was wide open. I pushed the thought aside for now, and told myself it was no big deal, could have been the janitor. Stepping into the gym, I scanned the dark surroundings. The electronic dummy was the first thing that caught my eye. Slipping my diamond out of my pocket, I turned it into my  Noginota. Flipping the switch on the metal dummy, It clinked and lit up as it was functioning. It's arms were flexible enough to work like a normal person, however, it's nonexistent legs were replaced with a bulky square metal body that was nailed to the floor. I wanted to work hard to ensure myself a place in the top four, so I switched the mode on the robot to difficult. It's beady eyes blinked, becoming a solid red - meaning the it was on difficult, green meant medium, and blue was easy. Gripping my weapon with both hands I prepared for its attack. The robot drew a long stick with no blade. It lashed a quick whip with its weapon, aiming to hit my side, but I counter attacked it and lashed for it's hard metal chest. The blade of my noginota bounced off not leaving a dent, but it wasn't supposed to. The dummy had reinforced metal so it couldn't break down or get destroyed. The dummy's attacks were quick, but my reflexes were quicker, having the ability to naturally expect what was being thrown at me.

Knite-su slithered into my mind unwanted, I tried to block him out and concentrate on the dummy, but he was to important at the moment. Well, he wasn't important, just the effect he had on me was. A new effect that I hated. The effect to color my cheeks rosy red and make my knees go weak, but he's the one who suddenly came onto me. Literally came onto me. That never happened to her before no one dared to ever even tap her shoulder. So why Knite-su would step up and do...that she had no clue. The dummy caught me wide open in the stomach making me fly back onto the ground. I was to distracted that a mechanical robot had gotten the best of me. My head hit something small and hard. I lifted up my hand to rub my- now in pain head- but it landed on the thing I hit. It was smooth and felt like leather, tracing my fingers over it I found it to be a shoe. Slowly I looked up and saw a tall dark figure over me.

"Um..Kia?" I could tell it was a boy, and he sounded familiar.

"Yea?" I asked still not fully looking up at him on my back.

"You like laying on the floor?"

"No, but you should help me up." I smiled. He followed my orders immediately and helped me to my feet. I wiped my back of anything that clung to it, remembering who he was now, James. The guy that Knite-su said watched me for three years. Though, I wasn't sure of how much that was true- or how much much of anything that slithered out of his mouth was true.
