I tensed up as I watched Bayo release her arrow, flying straight towards Knite-su. Thinking Knite-su was going to die for sure, it was almost to his heart and he still wasn't moving. I knew he could, he had the energy, my energy.. why wasn't he using it? Did he have a death wish? Just as Bayo's arrow came within an inch of his heart he knocked it away, like an annoying plastic toy. Breaking it in the process, Bayo began to reach for another arrow but wasn't quick enough. Knite-su was at her side in an instant with his sword poised over her heart.
"You put up a good fight, just not good enough." Knite-su said grimly. Startled at how close his voice was Bayo slowly raised her head. Before she could process what was happening, Knite-su had already plunged his sword through her heart. She dropped to the ground, dead.
"Knite-su wins! Mr. Okono announced. A few seconds after the announcement the chanting and cheering of Knite-su's name started. Knite-su wasn't impressed, walking out of the rock made arena he snatched the towel Mr. Okono offered him. While wiping the blood off his sword he motioned for me to follow him. I slowly followed him trying not stumble and fall along the way, I was still weak from the energy transfer. After a few minutes of walking I was ready to faint, thankfully Knite-su stopped under a huge maple tree a few feet away. They weren't far from the arena.
If Mr. Okono was to say something vital they would be able to hear him but they were far enough away that no one would hear their conversation. I slowing trudged my way over to where Knite-su stood. Relief swept through me as I leaned against the maple tree for support. The relief didn't last long, Knite-su was trying to murder me with his eyes.
"What?" I asked rolling my eyes. What have I done to him to deserve this kind of treatment he should be thanking me.
"I was doing just fine on my own, I didn't want nor did I need your help." Knite-su sneered at me.
I scoffed. "Could have fooled me."
"Don't play around Kia, I was fine. You knew I was fine."
"That's not what your bleeding leg says." I said motioning to his grazed leg.
"That's not the point here Kia. Don't ignore the fact that you were just trying to use me!" Knite-su growled paying no mind to his leg. I avoided eye contact with him and tried to quickly think of an excuse or lie, nothing came to mind. It was a wasted attempt though, Knite-su had already read my mind. He knew the truth there was no escape.
"It's called revenge, if you didn't know, or attempted revenge anyway." I wasn't going to stop there this was a great opportunity as any to call him out.
"Besides, I just thought the "almighty" Knite-su wouldn't want the shame of being beat by two girls on his reputation, you should be grateful. I did you a favor. You're welcome Kia, is the correct response here." With that said I lifted my chin higher into the air and turned my back on him. I was quickly grabbed by the arms and pulled back, Knite-su wasn't going to let me get away so easily. My back slammed against the tree, already weakened by my energy transfer with Knite-su I wasn't able to escape his grasp. I also had to much pride to try and wiggle around out of his arms like a little girl, showing how weak I actually was.
"I'm going to ignore your little comment and tell you my solution. So you better listen because I will not repeat myself." He said, loosening his grip on my arms.
"I'll stay out of your way and you stay out of mind."
I flashed him a death stare. "I was doing just that that until you came along!"
I waited for a response but the only one I got was a cold stare. Taking opportunity of the silence, I continued " You were the one who took the liberty of coming into my room, uninvited, twice! Deciding that it would be a great joke to play with me!" I was on a roll and I wasn't stopping anytime soon, nor did I want to.
