I picked up my luggage, only to notice it's extreme weight. The sounds of the airport echoed around me, and the sweet smell of a coffee shop drifted my way.

I walked forward towards the coffee shop. 'Annabeth's Cafe', it read. I could smell it still, and grinned at the thought of a nice, warm, cup of coffee, and suddenly found myself walking faster to get there.

I walked on, completely distracted by the scents of coffee. Walking up to the counter of the coffee shop, a man welcomed me politely, "Hello, and welcome to Annabeth's Cafe. How may I help you?" The sweet smell became even stronger, tempting me to get a cup.

"Um, alright. I'll have.." I paused, taking a look at the menu, instantly knowing what I wanted. "The pumpkin pie latte." I said, sounding oddly intelligent.

"Alright, one orange squasher, coming right up!" He'd said, sounding ridiculous. I laughed hysterically at his attempt at using slang for a latte name.

He handed me my latte, and began punching in numbers on his register. A bell sounded, as a small compartment appeared from underneath the register.

"That'll be three dollars and ninety-nine cents." He said, waiting for me.

Suddenly, I felt a pain in my back. It was strong, but didn't hurt that much. Then, suddenly, I collapsed to the ground, my back aching. The excruciating pain only got worse, as my back began deforming, my whole body in pain.

I looked up to the man, who began running over to me. He began fretting, becoming scared, and ran to the phone on the wall, leaving me to suffer. I knew he had no idea what was going on. Another man walked out from behind the counter. He had a small robe on, and kneeled down beside me, watching. His eyes were dark, scary.

"I'm sorry I had to do this," he started, "but I had no other choice."

Blue and white shapes sprouted from my back, only making the pain worse. From the corner of my eye, I could see what they were, and it suddenly seemed obvious.

Wings.

Then, I blacked out.
