She is admitted to the hospital on her birthday. I do wit her and try to comfort her, but I can't. She keeps crying, saying how much she does not want to die, how much she does not want to leave me.

I don't want her to die either.

I can't let her die.

But that's not for me to decide.

It's fate's.


I visit her every day. One, day I bring her flowers, another chocolate, another a big teddy bear. She smiles every time, but her smiles are never as joyous as they were before, and they never, ever reach her eyes.
