It was never meant to happen this way. Things were not supposed to end like this. They weren't supposed to end at all.Flashback to two weeks ago.
Dinah and I had just got back from a party with the other girls. We were staying at their house since my apartment was too far away. The girls however, decided to go somewhere else after dropping us off since the tension between Dinah and I were at an all time high.
"I can't believe you, Y/N. He literally wasn't doing anything!" Dinah yells at me as soon as we get inside the house.
"Wasn't doing anything? Dinah, he felt you up the entire time! Instead of doing anything about it, you sat there with him the whole time! I'm your girlfriend, you're supposed to be with me. When a guy starts putting his hands all over you, you walk away! Not just sit there and let it happen! Let alone with me right there!" I yell back. Her ex was at the party we were at, and he made it known that he wanted her back, and she just let it happen.
"I didn't do that! I asked him to stop and he didn't and then I walked away! You didn't have to start a fight with him!" She yells at me. By this time we have made it to her bedroom, where we start taking all of our clothes and jewelry off.
"When? When did you tell him, because I sure as hell didn't hear you! And yes, I did have to fight him! Did you hear the things he was saying? I was standing up for you! Why are you mad at me?" I'm already in my shorts and t-shirt and now I'm facing her. She throws her shirt over her head and turns to face me.
"Because all you've done since you got here is start drama! You got into a fight with Nela, have been distracting me at interviews, I barely get any sleep because of your nightmares, I mean damn Y/N. Was your past that bad that you still have nightmares at 19? I get that your mom died and-" she immediately stops.
"Finish it." I grit through my teeth.
"Y/n.." She says softly, but I'm not having any of it.
"Finish what you were saying, Dinah Jane." I calmly say. She knows I'm pissed, and the best thing for her is to just finish what she was saying.
"And that your step mom almost killed you and your little sister." She whispers while looking down.
"What else?"
"Y/N please..."
"WHAT ELSE!" I yell at her. I notice her flinch at my tone, but I don't really care.
"But aren't you old enough to be over that?" I notice a tear fall down her cheek, but she has no reason to cry. She knows she's messed up, and she needs to deal with it.
"Tell me, Dinah. At what age do you just magically get over finding your mom dead in her bed? Or how about dealing with a psycho step mom and a father who doesn't care? Or how about when you get a knife slashed at you and then your little sister because you are trying to get her a drink because that's the only thing that will help get her to sleep, because she can't do it on her own over the noise of her moms threats to her dad." I say while walking closer to her. "Because you know exactly how and when to get over that, right?" I ask but she shakes her head no.
"You know about my past, Dinah. You know that it haunts me to this day that I wasn't able to save Jadynn. So why in the hell would you bring it up?" I'm now crying and I am standing right in front of her. She looks me in the eye and I can tell that she wants to wipe the tears away, but is scared that she doesn't have the right to anymore.
