Nobody's POV
Jiyoo put her books down on the workbench. Waving her finger, she flipped the pages, book by book."Not this book... Nuh uh... Nope... Double nope... Still no... Screw this, Jiyoo. If you've never done this before, you should have decline the request yesterday," she murmured.
After what had felt like hundreds of books, she finally found the spell. A grin crossed her pretty face and soon she was busy with the bottles and pots and incantations. Just then, someone rang the doorbell. Gasping, her magic stopped and all the floating books and herbs dropped down to the earth. She groaned, annoyed.
"Oh, come on! When I was busy with this... One moment, please!" She called to the guest. Running to the mirror, she brushed and tied her hair up before floating down the spiral staircase. When she was about to grab the doorknob, the door swung open, revealing a handsome blonde boy around 17 of age.
"Seokjin oppa! Yah, you should just pull that knob and come in, you idiot!" Jiyoo threw her arm around him. He laughed and ruffled her hair.
"Just wanna see if you're gonna doll up like this if I rang the doorbell,"
"I did, but you messed it up right just now!" She pouted, sulking.
"Aigoo, did my sweet little sister turned into a sulky little girl while I was away?" Seokjin cooed. She sticked her tongue out before laughing. She missed Seokjin ever since he went to Japan last two weeks for a cooking competition.
The amateur chef is well acknowledged by famous people for his accomplishments in such a young age. Little did they know that he had been using Jiyoo's potions in them. No, he didn't think that was cheating.
"It's just a secret recipe of mine," he would said whenever the girl nagged about it.
Seokjin's POV
"I still have a potion-in-progress up in my workroom, so have some tea first," Jiyoo put a cup of tea and a plate of chocolate cookies in front of me.I sipped the hot chamomile tea she had prepared. Eyeing the mess of books on the floor, I smiled. Old and weird books full of colourful symbols and unreadable languages only the hazelnut haired girl understand. Except me, no one knew that she is a witch. A half blooded witch.
Her mother was a pure blooded witch in the European Medieval Age. Charlotte was a beautiful and probably the sweetest witch ever found. When Jiyoo's father, Jihyun got married with Charlotte, they stayed there. Ever since the death of both of them, I had been taking care of the girl like my own little sister.
At such an early age, Jiyoo had showed interest in magical things like what her mother did. And at only 13, she can performed high-leveled spells and memorizes two-lines long incantations. She never failed to amaze me. I smiled a bit.
"Earth to Kim Seokjin!"
I was brought out of my deep thoughts when Jiyoo slapped my arm. I glared at her, making her giggled.
"Done with your work?"
"Yup! Like always. So, what is it this time? Is it sesame oil or red bean paste?" She held out two crystal clear bottles containing coloured liquids. I grinned at the girl in front of me.
"Instead of the usual ones, I actually need something different this time. That is, if you can do it," I scratched my neck. She blinked for a couple of times before raising an eyebrow. I cleared my throat.
"Well, it's ginkgo oil. I found a recipe of a so-called 'Pre-historic Pizza'. And pre-historic as it is, it uses ingredients from those times, which includes ginkgo oil," upon my words, her mouth hung open.
"I don't think I've heard about it. But..." She put her finger on her lips, thinking hard. Just then, her dark green orbs sparkled.
"I think I saw it somewhere in those books. I guess it was this one," she said, taking a book filled with pictures of plants and herbs. Nodding slowly, she put the picture book on the table.
"Does it look like this?" She pointed to a picture of an orange coloured liquid. I smiled and nodded. She clapped happily.
"But I don't have any ginkgo leaves though. Umm, can you wait here for some times? I need to go collecting for your potion," she reached for her little basket before heading for the door.
"Are you sure? It's pretty late right now, and you're only 13, " I glanced at the ticking grandfather clock. It was almost midnight. She made an "okay" sign with her hand, assuring me everything will be fine. I sighed.
"Just promise me to be very careful in the woods," I waved to her from the living room. My eyes followed her trail until she was no longer visible in my sight. As I prayed for her safety, I closed the door slowly.
