Jiyoo's POV
"I'm home!" I poked my head in the kitchen to have a sneak peek on what Seokjin oppa was cooking. Because whatever the food was, it smelled amazing. He turned his back to greet me.

"Go and take a bath, dinner will be ready soon,"

"Ne~" I gave him a reply before rushing to my bedroom. It had been a while since I ate his cookings, so I kind of anticipating it. When I ran downstairs, Seokjin oppa was already at the table.

"Be careful Jiyoo! The food's not running away," he shook his head, showing that motherly side of his. I giggled.

"Sorry," I pulled a chair in front of him and started to dig in. Holy, did his cookings get better and better? He must've noticed how amazed I was when he chuckled and said.

"It's thanks to that ginkgo oil you made, Jiyoo,"

"Ah, that oil. So this is that pizza you said," I nodded, understood. Silence filled the room when he suddenly spoke up.

"You know what, your eomma used to cook this a lot back then. Using the same oil that you made for me," he let out a little smile. I felt my chewing slowed down as an ache crept up my heart. Forcing a smile, I looked up at Seokjin oppa.

"You miss her?" I asked. He gave me a small nod.

"Me too," I said quietly. Come to think of it, I never knew what exactly happened to her. I only knew that she is a witch, and she died a somewhat tragic death.

"Umm, oppa? I was wondering... well, you know... about eomma..." I stuttered at my words. I could see he was weirded out at first, but then he got it and a thin smile decorated his lips.

"You want me to tell you the truth?" His voice became airy. I hummed. He sighed a little before speaking.

"It all happened years ago..."

Many years ago
Charlotte held the baby, humming her to sleep. It was late, and Jihyun was still not home. She was worried and wanted to go out to search for him, but things were not safe outside. For her, at least. Just then, the door swung open, and there stood a young man. His face showed great worry.

"Jihyun, what's wrong?" Charlotte inquired, putting her fast asleep daughter in the crib. Her husband sighed hopelessly.

"I can't, Charlotte. I can't convince them about you. Those damn vampires, they're going to find you tomorrow," he palmed his face, frustrated. Charlotte smiled gently before placing her hand on Jihyun's thigh.

"It's fine, Jihyun. It's not like we don't expect it, right?"

"But I can't accept it. I love you, Charlotte. How can I live without you? I need you, Jiyoo needs you," he said, his voice hoarse from the flowing tears. Putting her arms around his neck, she said softly.

"Everything will be alright, Jihyun. I promise. Just know that my love for you and Jiyoo will never die, and please be a good father to her. Which I know you will," tears started to build up in her eyes. And probably for the last time, Jihyun held her tight, like what she always did when he was in trouble.

Charlotte spent the night watching over Jiyoo. She knew she will miss her so much. A sudden urge to hide the identity of the half blooded baby came across her. Before she knew it, she was casting a spell upon her daughter. It was almost time I finally do this, she sighed. When she glanced at the window, rays of light had started to crept in her bedroom.

"Time sure flew fast for things like this, didn't it?" She smiled weakly. Putting over her black cloak, she planted a kiss on her daughter and husband's forehead before leaving the house. It was almost noon when Jihyun finally woke up from his deep sleep. I must be exhausted last night, he thought. He glanced to his side and much to his horror, Charlotte was not there.

"She didn't left already, did she? Oh my gosh, why did I overslept?! Damn it, Jihyun!" He cursed. Taking Jiyoo in his arms, he rushed to the town square where the trials took place. And there she was, tied to a stake with her head hung low. The crowd was cheering and shouting.

"Burn her!"

"Light the fire!"

"Witches are not one of us!"

Jihyun was terrified. He didn't want to see Charlotte receiving such fate. Jiyoo was crying loudly, probably knowing what was happening. He squeezed through the crowd, only to be held back by the castle guards.

"No! Don't do it! Charlotte, no!" He was shouting his lungs out. Startled, the witch looked up and saw her husband and daughter's faces. The tears that she had been holding for the last few hours rolled down her rosy cheeks.

"Charlotte, I love you! Please don't leave me and Jiyoo! Let her go, she's not a witch! You retarded people, let her fucking go!" Jihyun shouted louder, trying to let loose of the guards' hold. But it was too late for the fire had been ignite and the cheering of the crowd sunk his voice. He watched the scene helplessly, Jiyoo still crying in his arms. Before the fire engulfed Charlotte entirely, he saw Charlotte smiling sadly and mouthing a few words to him.

"I love the both of you too,"

Present day
I was sobbing like a baby by now. Seokjin oppa wrapped his arms around me, trying to calm me down.

"Your eomma is a great woman, Jiyoo. She really loves you and your appa," he  said softly. I wiped my tears.

"Then... how did you... found me?"

"Your appa left for Seoul the very day your eomma died. He and his workers build this house far from town just to make sure you are safe. I was one of his worker's son that time, and I loved to come here to play. After some time, your appa became ill and asked us to take care of you. I was only four then," he patted my back.

I hugged him tightly. If it was not for him, I might not be here today. He hugged me back while messing my hair.

"So what was the spell that eomma casted on me?"

"From what I know, your blood can't be smell by certain people, or to be exact, vampires. Unless, you fall down or something and had a cut, then only the spell is broken," he said with a warm smile.

"I hate vampires now," I pouted. He grinned before a serious look adorned his face.

"Those boys who sent you home, are they your new friends at school?"

"Yeah, why?" I tilted my head. Seokjin oppa shrugged.

"Just... be careful around them, especially the black haired one,"
