Haley's P.O.V.

I watch Niall walk off down the street, as I climb back into my car.

He comforted me, then left.

I drive down the street quietly, thinking about what just happened.

I now have no boyfriend, and I lost the only guy who made me ever feel special, even though he never even liked me.

- - -

I wake up to the sound of an annoying alarm, and I groan, rolling around.

"Fuck you clock." I mutter hitting it off with my hand.

I stand up and slowly walk to my washroom.

I quickly strip out of my clothes, and climb into the shower.

As I let the warm water hit my tired skin, I think about what I have to do today.

I find myself daydreaming, and quickly put shampoo in my hair, then conditioner.

After my shower, I dry off, and get dressed.

It's getting colder outside, so I decide to wear a pair of skinny jeans, and a cute t-shirt, that'll soon be covered up by a jacket.

I blow dry, and straighten my hair, before walking downstairs.

My dad, of course, is at work again. He is pretty much everyday.

I grab a jacket, and grab my dogs leash, calling her name.

"Brynn!!" I yell shaking her collar, making a dinging noise.

I hear the quiet steps of her paws become louder, and see her run towards me.

She is a mini dachshund, with a brindle pattern on her fur.

I slip the collar onto her neck, and connect the leash to it.

"We're going for a walk!" I say excitedly, as she wags her tail.

I grab my keys and lock the door as we walk out of the house.

- - -

"Fuck you!" I hear someone yell, and then a grunt.

I look around and I don't see anyone, but I can hear someone being punched.

Brynn starts to bark, and I pet her to calm her down.

I walk towards an alley, and I can hear the voices getting louder.

I pull out my phone, and debate whether to call the police, but decide not to.

Brynn leads the way down the darkening alley, and I can now see a boy, about 25, with a blue hoodie.

He is being punched in the gut, by another boy with blonde hair.

"Stop!" I yell, regretting it as I did.

The boy who was punching the other one slowly looked up, and I realized it was Niall.

The boy with the blue hoodie slipped out of Niall's grip, and ran towards me.

"Well hello." He said taking out a knife from his hoodie pocket, and slowly walking towards me now.

Why did I have to get involved?

Brynn started growling at him, as he came closer and closer with the knife.

"Let me do it." I hear Niall say pushing the boy out of the way.

I look up at him, and he takes the knife into his hand, walking closer to me.

I am truly terrified, until I hear him whisper "Run."

I quickly start to run, my dog chasing behind me.

I hear the boy start to laugh, and Niall say "I'll get her, you stay here."

Once I round the corner, I feel Niall's hand on my arm.

I stop running and look at him.

"What the hell was that about?" I ask completely terrified and confused.

"He's kind of a member of a group thing I'm in.. It's not a good group. Don't get involved with that." He replied putting the knife into his pocket.

"Do you kill people?" My eyes widen as I step back from him.

"No! I'm not a murderer! I can't tell you what I do.. but I wouldn't hurt you." He says stepping towards me and putting a hand on my face.

"Why were you beating him up?"

"I was showing him that I was a lot stronger than him." He laughed looking back at the alley, making sure the boy wasn't watching.

"Ok.." I say starting to walk away from him.

I do not need to get involved with someone like this.

"Wait." I hear him say as I turn to see him.

"You never told me your name." He says referring to the other night.

"Haley." I say turning back around and walking forward.

"Well Haley, I'll be seeing you soon then." He says his voice becoming more distant.

I don't like the sound of that one bit.
