Jasper jolted awake, screaming, "Wwaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!" As soon as he got his mind straight, he asked himself, "What is happening to me?!" These were the only thoughts that remained in his head.
As Jasper stood up, he noticed someone was tailing him. "I gotta lose him fast," he thought to himself.
As he started running, he began to chant in order to increase his speed. However, he noticed that his pursuer was catching up to him. "How did he catch up so fast? Fine then," Jasper said to himself as he began chanting again, this time creating a magic circle to enhance the speed of his legs.
Suddenly, he turned around, swinging his fists in a wide arc, ready to fight back. But to his surprise, the person who had been following him was nowhere to be found. Jasper was panting and confused when he heard Frost's voice behind him.
"Okay, you pass," Frost said calmly, standing a few feet away from Jasper.
Jasper was taken aback. "But I didn't fight back yet!" he protested.
Frost's expression remained unchanged. "You pass, got it?" he said, his voice low and menacing.
Jasper couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about what just happened. "What was that all about?" he asked.
"It's a secret. Don't ask any more questions," Frost replied, his tone final.
All of the teachers were laughing yet astonished. As Frost emerged, Flex spoke up.
"You defeated him in a mere 2 weeks of training," Flex said.
"Who exactly?" Jasper asked with a confused look.
"Him...Frost. Nobody in this ranking can beat him. Yet you outran him and made him run for his money. You have the potential of being an Angel," Flex replied.
"I forgot what's an Angel again. I know they're part of the factions, but I don't remember any more details," Jasper said.
"Angels are humans that have unlocked their own potential and received supernatural abilities," Flex explained.
"Many Angels are the main battle force of the factions, with exceptional power and unique abilities that allow them to fight off powerful enemies," Flex continued. "Frost, for example, has defeated at least 10 Angels in a fight. We even thought he could be promoted to an Angel, but he doesn't have a supernatural ability of his own, so he remains a Dragoon."
Jasper looked surprised. "So having a supernatural ability is a requirement to become an Angel?"
"Yes, that's correct," Flex nodded. "It's believed that unlocking one's own unique abilities is a sign of unlocking their true potential as a human being. That's why Angels are held in such high regard."
"Wait, I have an ability. Look at this," Jasper said as he focused on putting all his energy into his palm.
The teachers then shouted, "Frost, come back here! Look at his ability!"
Frost then appeared, "Hmph, I already know that. I saw it when we were in the main base. Hey, why are you still here? You have jobs to do, get on with it."
Jasper then whispered, "Frost, can you show me to your agency?"
Frost replied, "Okay, let's first go to my boss's room."
"Okay, let's go!" Jasper replied excitedly.
As they arrived, an unknown figure greeted them.
"Hehehehe, welcome to my lair of despair," the figure said.
Frost took out his gun and fired. "Stop!!!" the figure said. "This is no fun and games, boss."
"Aw, come on, you're so mean... Meanie Frost!!" the boss said.
"Sorry for my rudeness, boss. I brought you some chocolate," Frost said as he handed over the chocolates.
"You're such a gentleman!! Can I be your wife???" the boss joked.
"My job and my personal life are two different things, boss," Frost replied.
"Oh, that's too bad.. By the way, who's that young fella you got over there?" the boss asked.
Frost whispered to Jasper, "Introduce yourself."
"I am Jasper, and I am currently under the training of Mister Frost," Jasper said.
"Hmm, Jasper? Okay, I am Madam Blood. I am currently rank 1 in my overall position, hahaha," the boss introduced herself.
"I thought Frost was rank 1?" Jasper asked.
"Dear, he's only rank 1 in strategy and combat capabilities. Anyways, are you the one who hacked our files?" Madam Blood asked.
"Yes ma'am. I thought I could sell it," Jasper confessed.
"Don't feel guilty, dear. That was a test to see who has the strength to crack a file like that, and they can be automatically hired by the Griffons... which means it's just like a job interview, and you passed. You also piqued the interest of our dear Frost here. You must be special," Madam Blood said.
Frost then asked, "Boss, can you identify his ability?"
"Of course, dear. Jasper, come here," Madam Blood said as she gestured Jasper to come closer.
"Now, there, give me your palm," she said.
Jasper asked, "Well, what is it?"
"It is hard to tell. Dear, can you go outside and bring me a drink?" Madam Blood said.
"Okay," Jasper said and then hurried outside.
Frost then asked, "Well, what was it?"
"His power was the same as his power...," Madam Blood said.
"Who's power?" Frost asked.
"The power of a member in the Repentance...," Madam Blood said.
"So his power is one of the seven angels?" Frost asked.
"Yes, his is..."
