Why had this happened? Was the question that crossed by mind at first but I realised it wasn't the most important one. What does this mean? For so long the protocol has always been perfection, things rarely changed around here. Something strange was happening . The sky just doesn't randomly turn red one day especially not in Teleios. It had to mean something. But what? The question burned inside my head. It had to mean something, it had to.
Just then the school bus pulled up in front of me. Our school is large and like all buildings here crisp and white. There are many hallways and rooms but it is not hard to navigate. Inside each classroom all of the desks are straight and lined up perfectly, every single pencil has a sharp point, pens are sorted into colour order and each book in the library is facing the same way. When I arrived I met Mia otside, she looked worried.
"Hi" I said
"Hi" she replied. "Do you know what's happening?"
"No" I admitted but I honestly wish that I did. I looked around me and realised that I wasn't the only one who didn't know what was going on. Most people were acting nervously and whispering to each other whilst some were either buzzing with excitement or fear, fear would make more sense.
"Its kinna scary right?" Mia said. I could tell she was really anxious so I tried to reassure her.
"I'm sure it's all under control. It's nothing. I think we'll be fine." But that was a complete lie, my mind was telling me the exact opposite of what I just said.
I had only just finished speaking when the bell rang and we made our way to morning assembly. The headteacher stood at the front of the hall and silenced all of the pupils by raising her hand. Everyone was paying attention as she began to speak.
"Listen everyone I have a message from the city leaders to all of you. Although things may seem a little different they wish for you not to panic but to continue your daily lives as normal." That was a lot to ask given the situation.
"We want to not to worry, please continue to work hard as usual, and of course to strive for perfection."
But considering the circumstances I don't think that will be as easy as she makes it sound.
