CHAPTER 1: Out Of Breath
**
Emma ran hard, harder than she's ever
run before. The pair of assassins gained on
her. She had so much, yet so little energy in
her legs, she could feel her muscles tense,
feeling like they could buckle any minute,
yet she persevered through the pain. Her
hands were still dripping with the blood of
her victim. She turned a sharp corner,
jumped up. and grabbed into a lamppost.
She slung around it, barely holding on,
to prop herself on top. Her vision was
blurry, but she could see one of the
assassins pull an arrow, and she felt the
side of it brush on her leg, leaving a big
burn mark. She felt warm liquid dripping
down her leg, but didn't bother to look
down. She took all of the energy she had
left, and jumped on the nearest roof. Her
heels didn't catch on all the way, she
wobbled back-and-forth, but eventually
slipped off. She caught herself with one
hand, and although the blood on her hands
was restraining any and all friction, she
managed to pull herself up.
Emma looked back at the assassins,
they were looking up, out of breath. She
heard the girl say, over the telephone, "Yes,
director, we'll be right there." They took
one last deep breath before running off.
Emma took a sigh relief, and fell to the
rooftop. She sat there, against the edge. As
her vision started clear up, she noticed a
vent in the roof. She opened the vent and
slid down, landing with a thud, on her feet.
She had landed in an old, abandoned
warehouse. She slowly walked towards
two brown boxes, looking around. She
looking one box; Barbie dolls, and the
other; Captain America action figures.
Holding the toy, awful flashbacks were
haunting her mind.
"Steve Rogers, was a warrior, a true soldier.
That will be you. Germany will have their own
'Captain America', you. NOW GET IN THE
MACHINE!" The man yelled in his harsh,
German accent.
She shuddered and snapped out of it,
throwing the toy back in its box.
