The Devils Daughter: New World

Chapter 2 - Power trip

I ran through the trees for what felt like hours without even getting tired, it was like I was on a power trip or something. I soon triped and landed on my side causing even more pain then the beating, ok Cathy calm down, calm down I said to myself as my body started to feel ice cold at the same time burning hot. I sat under a large tree with roots comming out of the ground that covered me like a little cave.

The sky was staring to turn it's perfect shade of midnight and I still hadn't managed to calm down, but when I started hearing the sound of someone comming made me even worse then before and that when I could hear there voices.

"I saw her run this way" a male voice said, but I kept incredibly quiet and still so they wouldn't see me.

"Where did she go?" Another male voice said as they came closer to were I was hiding.

"I don't know Daniel... do you think she already learned how to teleport?" The first voice said, I gave out a small shaky breath.

"Wait, did you hear that?" The one I assumed named Daniel said, the other guy nodded and looked in my direction. Thanks to the tree roots they weren't able to see me as I turned my head to face them. The first guy I saw had long blonde hair sort of a hippie or surfer style, and brown almost black eyes that stared at me, could he see me? With that thought he turned to look at the other guy who I'd imagine was Daniel, he had short black hair with a silver stripe going down the middle of it and sapphire blue eyes who looked back at the other guy and gave a small nod. Shit! I think they found me.

"I'm gonna go take a leak" the first guy said and walked away behind Daniel before he could answer back, all he did was nod and lean against a tree facing my direction so even if I wanted to make a run for it I couldn't knowing he would see me and most likely catch me before I even stepped away from the tree.

Even if my step-family is abusive I still wished I was at home with them instead of out here with these two loons. After staring at Daniel for a while I heard a noise come from my right and instantly turned to see the first guys coming towards me with a smirk on his face "got you now" was all he said before a cloud of black smoke blinded me, making me close my eyes and hold my breath.

I opened one eye to see if the black smoke had disappeared and it had, I was sitting on my bed in my room. What? How? Hu? I was beyond confused now and to make matters worse Jake came into my room with my step-mum and dad. Jake had a confused face while the other two just stared at me blankly "how did you get back up here? I saw you run down the street" Jake said looking just as confused as I was is that when those two guys meant by teleporting? I was ruddy ripped out of my thought's by my screaming step-mother.

"Don't be rude and answer him dam question you little slut" she slapped me across the face making me close my eyes to hold back the tears that wanted to rush out of my right now.

There was silence for a while before Jake spoke again and said "and what about you throwing me into the wall without even touching me?" His voice lowered.

"Oh not this crap again" my step-father said rolling his eyes and crossing him arms.

"But it's true she really did throw me into the wall without touching me" Jake argued.

"Well if she did then let's see it" my step-father walking up to me, I didn't under stand what he ment until I saw him raise his right arm up into the air and make a fist with his hand that came shooting down at my head. The black smoke came back just in time moving me from the bed to the wall closest my door where I had thrown Jake before and headbutting it before I hit the ground from loosing my balance. I quickly shot up and put my arms up in front of me as I breathed heavily after realising I had still been holding my breath, what the fuck is going on? Why can I suddenly do these things? Can I do more then teleport and throw people into walls? Many question filled my head as I notice my step-family backup further into the room away from me with shocked expressions on there faces.

"Get out, get out now!" I spat with a shaky breath, they looked at each other before turning to me again not moving. I moved away from the door so they could go past but they continued to stand where they were and stare at me as I moved, I wish they would just get out! and just as I thought the black smoke swirled around them from the ground up and disappeared. I put my arms down and relaxed a little before walking over to my window and looking over the view of rooftops and the street I lived on until I notice a strange black truck parked opposite my house with tinted windows. I decided to ignore it for now and close my blinds so I could get changed ready for bed. I couldn't go to sleep for another few hours so I just listened to music for a while until finally passing out from exhaustion and entering a strange looking dream.

I was in an even larger bed room them mine and the walls were crimson red with gold edging around the ceiling, there was a diamond like chandelier and to be honest there was really nothing in the room that I didn't already have. The bed was the same as the one in my room except the red material on the top was a dark shade of purple. I took a few steps towards the door before realizing that there were footsteps coming towards the door. It opened and Andrew stood on the other side of what appeared to be rail bars made entirely out of pure silver. I stepped closer to the bars and reached my hand out to touch them when a burning pain shot through the hand reached out, I stepped back, my hand still feeling like it's on fire as Andrew turned to face me "don't touch the bars again" was all he said before closing the door bringing me out of the dream or nightmare I should say.
