Jay's POV
I watched in horror as my father destroyed the place I once called home. If I was sitting on my roof a few days before like I am now. I wouldn't think something like this was even possible. Now I know the truth. Anything is possible, and that you should trust no one (fallers unite!). Never let your guard down, even if it's someone you think you know.
I look at the city as the nature took over. It's a traumatizing sight. Seeing the old friends and neighbors, dead in the streets. It's too much. Too much to take in, too much to handle, and just too much period.
"Jay? Jay. Jay!" I hear a voice whisper. I turn around, and it's the one person I know I can trust: my mother. "Jay, you need get out of here! Leave! Go somewhere safe! Just run!" I look at her tear stained face. "He has your sister, and he has Ben. He's looking for me next. You need to go, now!" She says in a rather harsh tone
"What about you?" I ask her. I can't leave her behind. Not now. Not when she's the only person I love left.
"Jay, I can't. You need to go without me!" She yells at me. I can't leave her. I don't care if I have to drag her I'm taking her no matter what.
I turn around and see that he's getting closer. I have to run, but I'm taking mom no matter what she says. I turn to tell her that, and discovered that she left. I was going to go look for her, but I found a note where she was standing. I didn't bother to read it, I know what it says. I know what it means.
I climbed down to the balcony. Grabbed the backpack I had ready.
I'm going to run, and I'm not coming back.
