Chapter Five Of The Volturi Queen: Here We Go....

The taxi drove off and I was left standing in front of what I assumed to be the place where the Volturi lived shaking. I probably looked stupid standing here with a duffel bag next to me, so I quickly picked it up and walked towards a dark alley.  Why I went to the dark alley I'll never know, but something inside my mind told me to go there. 

The alley was like any other alley. It was cold, damp and wet. My breath could be seen whenever I breathed through my mouth. I shivered and wrapped my arms around my chest, my duffel bag was hanging on my shoulder and was swaying slightly. Maybe it was a mistake coming here. No! I must not think like that, I came here for a reason and it wasn't a mistake. The fate of my life now depends on them so there's no turning back now. Besides, even if I wanted to go, I had no money so I couldn't find a place to stay or go home to Charlie. 

Charlie! By now he would have figured out I've left and probably got a whole search party out to look for me. My poor old dad, who has never done anything wrong to anybody didn't deserve his only daughter running away. But it's for the best.

But it doesn't stop the pain in my heart though. 

Suddenly, I heard something creak then there was movement behind me. I spun around not seeing anything but darkness. I gulped and walked forward. "Hello?"

"Now what would a young girl like you be doing out here on your own," A voice from the shadow said coming forward until I could finally see who it was. A young guy with red eyes and dark brown hair was soon stood in front of me smirking. He must be one of them. I thought. 

"Now why would I tell a vampire who would probably suck me dry without his masters knowing" I folded my arms and smirked at his shocked expression. I don't know what's come over me, I'm sassier and not shy, I like it. 

He growled. "How do you know about us"

"Take me to your masters and I'll explain everything"

"I should kill you right now" He grabbed my arm a little too rough causing me to wince. "No human should know about us"

I yanked my arm away which surprised me. How did I do that? "If you kill me, you'll never know how I know about you guys."

He glared at me and started walking towards what I assume is the entrance to the castle. I smirked and followed after him, one vampire down, a lot to go. I could tell that I both made this vampire angry and confused. He kept glancing back at me thinking I wouldn't notice. I must admit, he is good looking....I wonder if he's found a mate?

The vampire (maybe I should learn his name) lead me through a door that my eyes couldn't pick up and into a dark, long and cold corridor. What is it with these vampires and cold, damp places? 

"Keep up" He hissed

"I'm trying, some of us don't have super speed"

He chuckled. "The perks of being a vampire"

"The perks of being an ass more like" I mumbled and he growled. Okay, maybe pissing off a vampire isn't a good idea. But hey, if I'm going to die, I might as well have a little fun. "You know, you should be more kind to us humans. Without us, you'll probably die of thirst. We're the reason why you're still alive"

He didn't say anything, he just opened a big wooden door and lead me through. Here we go....
