Aphmau's POV
Days have been boring, same old, same old, I'm sitting math class, where the only semi-smart thinking I do is calculating the amount of time left in class and coming up with creative scenarios that get me out of gym class.

I had just walked out of class and I'm thinking to myself, "Well there is the classic, I'm having some 'girl issues' excuse but I mean half the class already uses that. Maybe I can fake an injury... But I don't have an excuse because I don't do any sports that I could have gotten injured at... Ooo ooo I know I could just tell them a bunch of ninjas attacked me! Thats totally believable right?"

"Not really." Someone answered behind me.

"Did I say that out lou-?" I turn my head to see Laurence, "Laurence?! Hi! Um... Wait! Were you eavesdropping on my conversation?!" I asked.

He laughed, "You mean the conversation you were having with yourself?"

"Well-" I say pointing a finger up, standing on my tippy toes trying to reach him, "I honestly think of myself as great company!"

"Okay then... Anyway, for your information I was going to ask you a question, but I heard you talking about girl issues and ninjas and I didn't want to interrupt your conversation with yourself."

"Then why are you wasting time, just ask me the question already?"

"I was going to but then you accused me of eavesdropping and-"

"Laurence...just. ask. the. QUESTION!" I said in a semi-demonic voice.

"Oh yeah, that. Anyway I was wondering if you would like to come to my soccer game tonight? ...I mean unless your having "girl issues". But hey if you are able to come, I'll make sure to kick the ball at you so you can get that injury you wanted. Cause, sadly I'm not a ninja..."

"Sure, why not?!"

"Okay I'll text you the time later, and- thanks...!"

"See ya' later Laurence!"
Later that day
Writing class-

I walk into class and take my seat. The bell rings. The seat next to me is empty and I have no idea what to do. Garroth usually sits there, but where is he? The second bell rings.
"Okay, class, let's get working on your poems from yesterday, shall we?" I pull out my book and start writing ideas. But I just can't shake the fact that the two most popular boys in the school like me! I can't believe I didn't realize this before! And it's driving me crazy that I can't pick! I hear the door open with a loud bang, all pencils stop and everyone's heads turn to the door.
"S-sorry, Mrs.-"

"It's okay, honey, pick your seat."

"Okay."

"Hia, Garroth!"

"Hey." He says with a slight sigh, moving his stuff to the desk next to mine.

"Is something wrong?"

"Long story short, just a rushed morning."

"Why? What happened?"

"Well," he started, "we took our neighbors 8 year old kid to babysit while her parents were away on a trip for the week, and she shut every alarm off in my house. So we woke up late, my mom was running like a headless chicken around the house, my dad was yelling because he couldn't be late for work, we couldn't get Zane off his computer and Vylad wouldn't rush his morning meditating!...Whoo! I'm out of breath!"

"Wow..."

"Yeah and on top of that, I have a baseball game tonight!"

"Gee, you've got a busy day."

"I know, but- hey, would you uh- wanna come to my baseball game tonight, maybe you'll give me good luck after this not so good day?"

"Of course! What time?"

"7 o'clock. I can pick you up if you want."

"I'll ask my mom when I get home. I have your number so I'll text you!"

"Cool."
The rest of class we laugh and talk... I'll have to decide soon.
