I woke up with a pounding headache. My bed was empty and it didn't look like Mercedes came home. I seen aspirin and water on the nightstand. I remember what happened last night. I took the aspirin and then I got out of bed. I seen the shower was empty so I went and did my normal morning routine. When I was done and fully dressed I walked inside the living room and I found Brionna watching tv. She glanced at me then turned away. I sat down next to her and then I turned off the tv.

Brionna: I was watching that

Nyla: Who cares

Brionna: What do you want

Nyla: About last night

Brionna: Shouldn't you go tell your girlfriend what you did don't explain yourself to me

Nyla: What she don't know won't hurt her and I just came to apologize for kissing you I wasn't myself and I be happy if it stayed just between us

Brionna: Why is wifey going to be mad

Nyla: Your getting on my nerves

Brionna: So leave bye bitch I won't say anything now go find wifey she hasn't come back

I was going to hit her but that be stupid of me. There's no more crying to my mother and having her get a spanking. I already know she stronger than me but I do give her a challenge. Anyways I got up and went out to find Mercedes. As I was walking out she was coming in with breakfast. I close the door and she put stuff down on the counter. She crashed her lips into mine and we made out for a little while.

Nyla: You didn't come home last night

Mercedes: I did but your breath was bad. You had a little too much to drink so I got up bought me and you breakfast and I been at the gym

Nyla: Oh okay

Mercedes: So what are doing today because classes start tomorrow and you know all the fun will be over

Nyla: Actually I got practice in a hour and I'll be there all day so go make some friends

She gave me a mean look then said okay. My future with Mercedes is all planned out. One day I will propose and she will be a housewife and I will be a basketball player and we will live happily ever after in a big mansion. Anyways I ate breakfast and then I kissed her goodbye. When I got to the gym I was greeted by all the other teammates who were already sitting there waiting for it to start. They seen me play and heard how good I was. Practice was four hours long but I enjoyed myself. Although I was a little sore now. After practice I decided to call my mom.

On the phone with her mom........

Nyla: Hey mommy how are you

Mom: I'm fine sweetie how is my college girl doing

Nyla: I'm good everything is great here I had my first practice today

Mom: That's good to hear, I bragged about you to everyone at the church and the women shelter, my baby going to be a star basketball player someday I'm so proud of you. But if this basketball doesn't work out what's your plan b

Nyla: I don't need a plan b this what I was meant to do. God blessed me with this gift for a reason and I'm happy your happy do you need me to drive back home do you need anything had Buzz came around

Mom: Sweetie I'm fine don't worry God watching over me and no your father hasn't returned but I'm going to help out with bible study so call me tomorrow and text me later I love you baby girl

Nyla: Love you too mommy

I love my mom so much. I hope my father doesn't return and cause her stress. I hate that man so much. He really destroyed me and my mom emotionally and it took a while for our lives to get back on track. But I pushed him to the back of my mind. I made my way back home and I found Brionna and Mercedes arguing.

Nyla: Stop bothering my girlfriend

Brionna: Whatever I'm leaving

She left and slammed the door. I didn't care for what they were arguing about. I made myself something to eat and then sat down on my bed. Mercedes sat next to me and all she could talk about was basketball and sports and I wanted to have a nice decent conversation with her that wasn't related to school, sports, or our little fairy tale ending. After that she left the room in a hurry. I laid down in bed and all I could think about was the kiss I had last night with Brionna.
