The Irresistible Nerd

Brooke's POV

Last day of summer, huft, time flies by so fast. What to do on the last day of summer, I took my phone and texted mom.

To mom,

I'll be going to the mall, playing bowling, alone. Don't wait for me okay ? Love ya 

after clicking send, I took a quick shower, and changed to plain white crop tee, a black hot pants, black suspenders, and my white nike kicks, I decided not to bring my phone, cause I have no one to text to, and I'll be playing bowling there, I grabbed my bag, I decided to use my glasses, its really uncomfortably to use eye contact, then I locked the house, and walked to the bus stop. 

The bus finally arrived, I took a sit in the very front, and read a novel, not minding the outside world, when unexpectedly a really cute guy came in the bus, with his friends, he took a sit beside me, he is around my age 15 - 16, he then gave me a smile, I know that smile, it looks really familiar, OMG is Jake Peterson, he is the the cutest quarterback and the bad boy that have manner, he goes to my school, but is really smart, all the girls, in my school, including me have a secret crush on him, we made eye contact for a second or two, then he broke it and joked around with his friend again, when I suddenly heard his friends whispered,

"isn't that, Brooke ?" 

"not it couldn't be, she is really the opposite of her,"

"no man look, she is using the same glasses," 

I broke their annoying whisper, "I'm right here you know?" I mumbled, "Oh yea sorry, can I asked you something?" Jake asked, I nodded, biting my lips,

"Are you Brooke Parker?" 

"Yea,"

"Whoa you changed a lot Brooke, you used to be the nerdy type," 

"I'm still nerdy, just a different look," 

and I heard one of his friend whispered to his other friend, "shit, she is hot," 

"I can hear that you know," I said, they just smiled, 

"Where are you heading, Brooke?" 

"The mall, just to play bowling," I continue reading,

"Mind if I come with you?" Jake asked, my jaw dropped, Jake Peterson just offered himself to come with me.... 

I bite my lips, "uum yea sure, if you want to," I saw Jake smile wider, and heard Jake's friend whispered to him, "dude what are you doing ? I thought we are going to meet someone," 

"come on man, she's hot, she.. she is irresistible," Jake whispered back to him, I just pretend not to hear anything, and blushed, he just called me irresistible. 

"Grand Mall," the bus driver announced, Jake offered his hand to me, "we are here," we walked out of the bus, can't believe Jake, the bad boy just ditched his friend for me. We walked inside the mall in awkward silence, but hands still collided to each other. 

"You sure, you want to come with me?" I broke the silence,

"Why not? you cannot be alone in this huge mall, you know," he smirked,

"but..but," he covered my mouth with his hand, "no buts, sweetheart," I sighed, butterflies in my stomach, red face, I'm in the mall with Jake Peterson.
