All throughout algebra, I couldn't concentrate at all. Mr Zen kept talking and teaching, but my mind never got to it. It was stuck on the awkwardness that I'd been feeling, being stuck in this classroom with Joseph. Even though he was far from me, I couldn't relax. The period couldn't end any quicker, but when it did, I didn't stay in my seat for an extra second as I leaped out of my seat to get out.
Next period was World History, which I had with Isaac. Great, another awkward period. Groaning, I made my way to World History and took a seat. Isaac entered 10 minutes late, Ms Gladys had already started the lesson.
When he entered, our eyes met. While my stare was more hurt and confused, his was a glare. It's like he doesn't know any other way to look at me, if he does look at me. I slowly looked down at my textbook, not wanting to see him glare at me anymore.
He started walking towards me, and my heart rate started to speed up. But he walked right past me, and I realized his seat was behind mine. Stupid, me. While taking his seat, he leaned forward, and whispered in my ear, "Heard your boyfriend dumped you," as if he was pleased about it. His husky voice, and body so close to mine, sent shivers down my spine. Shaking away the feeling, I didn't turn back or respond to him.
