Lucian's POV

She looked good today. Wait. Not good. Great. She dropped a stack of edited files onto my desk, snapping me out of my reviere.

"Hmmm?" I asked, my focus still on the fact that her skirt was on deliciously tighter than usual, accentuating every curve. I bit my lip anxiously. I flitted my eyes back up to her face.

"I'd like to request a day off tomorrow." She said simply while taking a seat in the chairs positioned in front of my desk.

Her blouse had a much lower cut than usual and I found myself staring at her breasts rather than her face.

"Did you hear what I just said?" She asked before pulling her blouse higher up so it covered what I had just been staring at.

I cleared my throat and refocused back on her face. "What was it you needed?"

Malea sighed. "I need tomorrow off work."

I snapped into attention then. "Reason?"

I could tell she was suppressing the urge to roll her eyes. "Are we really doing this again?"

"What do you mean by that? If you are planning on missing out on a full day of work, you need to explain why." I hissed through clenched teeth, trying to make myself seem angrier than I actually am.

She scowled. "Levi and I need a day out together. He insisted that we spend tomorrow together."

My eyes lowered to slits. I didn't want Levi near her. I wanted her where I could see her. All of her. "Absolutely not."

She threw her hands up in exasperation. "This isn't right, Lucian! Can't you see that?" She jumped up from the chair. "How can you deny a day I chose to be out of work just because you don't like the idea? It's clearly stated in the contract that I can choose my days off so long as I don't take more than 7 days off in a month!"

She was screaming now. I stood up. "Malea lower your volume."

She shook her head and crossed over to my side of the desk. "Like hell I will! You need to follow the rules that go with the contract! Just because you're the CEO doesn't mean you are exempt from the same rules that bind you and Ales together!"

I covered her mouth with my hand and pressed her against the wall, my body falling in place with hers. Her eyes grew to the size of saucers as she tried to talk through my hand. I leaned down towards her ear, my stubble scratching at her jaw when I spoke. I relished the feel of her body against mine. Why does she have to make things so hard for me? "Keep your voice down. Anyone could be listening. You cannot discuss the contract so openly like that." I whispered huskily into her ear. She smelled great.

"Now I'm going to remove my hand and we are going to talk this out quietly." I stared into her green eyes and she nodded once.

Slowly I pulled my hand away. Each breath she took, I could feel. I could feel the increasing pound of her heartbeat. I'd just realized just how close we were, our lips just millimeters away. I want so badly to lean in and–

"Lucian–" She began. I want to hear her say my name again.

"Hmm?"

"I can't do this." She moved out from underneath me. I turned around to face her. She was already collecting her things.

I cleared my throat. "Take the day off tomorrow." I called uselessly as she walked out the door. She would've taken the day off whether I'd said yes or no.

Alesandra's POV

"So have you an Lucian finally had—" I shot Winter a look and she grinned. "Have you guys done it yet?" She rephrased. We were in public, I couldn't have her talking about Lucian and I like people weren't listening.

Winter surveyed a pair of Barney's sleek, black leather pants.

I shook my head. "No. I don't know what or who it is that's keeping him from noticing me and I don't know how to find out."

Winter turned to me. "Honey. I'm 99.99% sure there's another woman." She guided me to the register and dropped her items for the cashier to check out. Then she turned to me. "I can help you figure out which woman is occupying his time."

I felt a pang of pain. Lucian was with another woman? "How?"

Winter grinned and collected her items and I followed her out to the car we came in, the driver already opening the doors for us to enter. As soon as we entered, Winter rolled up the soundproof partition.

"I have a personal investigator who does some digging on whoever I wish." She grinned. "But he's a little expensive."

Did I really want to invade Lucian's privacy and risk him finding out? Or get Winter's investigator to find out who it is Lucian's spending time with and do something about it?

"It's a small price to pay for a greater outcome." She said slyly.

I've decided. "Fine. I'll do it. Get your investigator on the case now. I want to know everyone and anyone that talks to Lucian or interacts with him. I even want someone at his work. There's a high probability that someone from his work is infatuated with him."

Malea's POV(The next day)

I lied to Lucian. Levi didn't know I was taking the day off. After Levi and I last talked in Lucian's office, he hadn't called so today, I decided to go over to his house and talk to him. Something was up and I wanted to see if he was okay.

After checking my outfit one last time: A pair of leather skinny jeans, a billowing white blouse with a lower cut, and nude wedges. I grabbed my handbag and phone and headed into my car.

As soon as I pulled up into Levi's mile long driveway, I knew something was wrong. Of Levi's 4 cars, there was a fifth in the driveway. Levi never leaves his cars in the driveway. He told me once that he always keeps them in the garage.

Cautiously, I grabbed my handbag after parking, and closed my car door and made my way to the French double doors.

I reached over to press the bell but stopped once I noticed that the door was open just a sliver. It was unlocked. I pushed the door open and dropped my handbag on the small table in the foyer.

The whole house looked empty. I walked over to the double staircase and made my way upstairs. Maybe Levi was in his room. When I got to his room, I noticed that the door was closed.

Hmm. Maybe he's sleeping? I glanced at my watch. It was only 3 o'clock. Why would Levi sleep at 3 in the afternoon? That would be unusual. I placed my hand on the door knob. Just as I was about to twist the knob, a female moan resonated throughout the house, the sound coming from Levi's room.

Already knowing what I would see next, but needing confirmation, I opened Levi's door to see him tangled in the sheets with another woman. The same woman from the restaurant. My heart leapt into my throat. Gina.
