Ice's heavy body barred the door easily. Anyone that tried to push on the door got a nasty snarl, and eventually they left her alone. She turned her attention to the young girl. She was still naked and curled up next to her,
"Thank you Luna. He scared me when he came over to tag me like that..." She was speaking softly, sadly, "I didn't m-mean to en-end th-the g-game..." she started to sniffle, and Ice made a motherly noise, a sad whine that ended in a wuff sound, causing the little girl to look at her, Ice moved her head so the pup looked in her eyes.
The pup seeing the motherly, sad, and very calm, adoring look in her eyes, smiled and curled into her fur more, "Thank you Luna... You are my favourite." Now she looked confused, Luna? What was that. She tilted her head almost comically, and she giggled, "Luna, you are the boss female." She hugged her neck and then stood to get dressed. Ice stared at the little girl, Me? A Luna? But how? When? Why? She glanced around and pressed an ear against the door, she heard a hear beat, and the smell of cedar and snow. Daran. But he wasn't standing so he had to be against the door. She waited for the child to be dressed before standing up and walking over to her. She pressed her forehead against the little girls
"What do you mean I am Luna?" She asked her directly, no one could hear her.
"You are luna, cause you are Alpha Daran's other half." She said intelligently.
Now she stared at the girl, pressing her forehead against the pups again, she asked, "Whats your name?"
"My name is Lilly. My mumma an Papa arn't here no more." She ended sadly,
" Well i'll look after you pup. Even if i don't want to be Luna, I'll watch over you." Her eyes were soft when the little girl looked up at her, Lilly started to sob and clung to her neck,
"Thank you Luna..." Ice lay down, and rolled on her side, the little girl ended up falling asleep clinging to her neck. Ice also fell asleep, but only into a light sleep.
After an hour of dozing lightly, her ear twitched as the door knob twisted. The little girl had shifted so she was between her front legs, still hugging her neck. Daran peaked over her, and she started to bare her teeth,
"Im just checking on you two, you both have been in here for over an hour." There was worry in that whisper, and menice in her eyes. However, when he looked again, there was curiosity instead. She broke eye contact and lay her head down, then moved her head along the carpeted floor till the top of her jaw touched the to of the girls red hair.
Ice sighed softly and just lay there as Daran sat down behind her.
"Can you talk through a mind link?" he whispered, she grunted softly, questioningly. As if asking what he was talking about.
"You know, mind to mind?" She blinked, was that what it was called? She had shut everyone out a long time ago, would she be able to open that wide again? She seriously doubted it.
"Lilly, are you awake?"
"I am now Luna," She said with a yawn, carefully lifting herself away from Ice, She stretched, then noticed Daran, she yelped then hid in Ice's fur. Ice simply looked at the little girl and nosed her gently, then turned to Daran, and pressed her head to his, showing him pictures of her life. All alone since the age 8, right to where she watched the family at age 12, getting chased by his pack every year for six years, then finally this whole year, getting shot at twice, and slicing her paw open. Then she spoke,
"You cannot ask me to open my mind to you and everyone. It is to much to ask right now. And no. I cannot shift back... I cant. I've been in wolf form for six years now. It is much too much to ask of that." She turned to the pup, and moved her head in a gesture to come along, she walked past the suddenly stone still Daran, and into the hallway. Lilly finally spoke to her,
"You've never told me what your name is Luna." She turned and pressed her head against the girl's,
"I have no name that i remember. But I call my self Ice."
