After dropping him to the empty looking school entrance, I headed to the gym early.

A good 3 hours later, I'm in my car smoking. I stay my classic while thinking. Of everything. In every possible perspective for a reason.

Is that it? It's like 2 30 now, kids should be out by now. I think of letting it go, but what else better do I have to do than pick him up?

I reach once again the same way, to a way busier path. I look over and find doll face with a bunch of people laughing. I look closely and I notice a chick from a distance, with a pixie haircut. Probably. Beside her another guy with a loose shirt and pants, what are they his grandparents? I beep twice to his direction, and roll my window down. He notices me, and looks surprised. I already told him I needed to get him home.

He looks between both of his friends, and approaches the car, I pull down my shades now that all of them were looking my direction. And yup, thats defiantly a chick. I see boobs. She whispers something to the other dude beside her. I'm no lip reading expert but she either mumbled 'is that batman' or 'is that Nate Cavan' I go with the second option while the kid stands besides me.

He looks at me through the window and speaks before I cut him off "Hey, thanks for-"

"Get in" I motion towards the passenger seat.

"Serena will pick m-" he starts.

"I said get in, kid"

He sighs and walks to the other side in the passengers seat.

I look over and the kids' mouth and they're still wide open, losers. I always hoped I wouldn't be one in High school. And thankfully, I wasn't.

I roll my window back up, and block their vision to the inside of my car due to the tint. Privacy. The one thing I never peacefully get except in showers, an sometimes in those 15 comfortable minutes in the car after working out.

His phone breaks the silence, but he picks it up instantly when 'Serena' pops on his lock screen.

He picks it up with 'hello' and waits for about a minute without opening his mouth. I can already hear Serena's bizarre screaming from hear.

After a good 30 seconds of loud yelling heard, I take the phone from his ear and shut her up.

"Hello my dear Serena, I'm doing just fine, thanks for asking" I say even though she didn't ask shit. But I don't shut up and continue "Oh, I picked Eric up by the way, and he's spending a little while with me, if you don't mind, not like it matters but anyways you can deal with the angry parents. B-bye. Will catch up with you later." And with that, I hang up on her.

I look to my side and see a frozen curly locks. Is that a word? It is now.

"I'm officially dead," he sighs.

"Your sister yelling bloody hell doesn't count" I point out.

"It's not that, I have mom to deal with."

"She'll cover for you, you wanna bet?" I challenge.

"Serene? No she wouldn't" he laughs.

"You'll see." I park at the entrance of the restaurant and press the button to kill the engine, "right after we finish some pizza."

We make it inside, as a white chick, not older than 20 comes to our table.

"How may I help you today?" She asks while holding her hands together tightly in front of her making her boobs pop even more from her shirt.

"One large pepperoni and two cokes, you like coke?" I ask while pointing my index on him, he shakes his head a 'no' "cool, two cokes please." I ask as nicely as possible.

"Would you like anything else with that?" She bites her lip and continues "like sausages maybe?" She ends with a wink, Eric lowers his head to his hand and lets out a hundredth sigh as in a 'are you fucking kidding me' way, she ignores him and keeps her attention on me. I could let this whole incident slip but I choose not to. I wasn't recognised anyways, perhaps I could make a use of that.

"That's disgusting. Pepperoni and sausages are a no-go, but if you're really up to it you can go catch the manger before he leaves." I lower my voice and lean to her. "I'm pretty sure thats how you got this job. Because apparently" I give her a dramatic worried look and finish off with "you suck at it, And I'm guessing I don't need to tell you you suck what." I wink back at her, she turns around and leaves and Eric is just there smiling and I could swear I see a held in laugh.

"And what are you smiling at?" I look at him seriously.

"Nothing" he looks me back in the eye.

Our pizza arrives by another waiter, of course, while we eat silently.

"Dammit" the kid frowns. Looking at the salsa that has his shirt stained.

"God. I can't tell you how happy I am right now!" I say in relieve.

"What?" He looks at me with a look of both confusion and anger.

"Thats a horrible colour, it looks like my grandfather threw up all over it." His shirt was in dark olive, not the cute one, the one that makes your clothes look worn out.

"It was my favourite!" He fights back defending his shirt.

"Well then, if that means anything, it's that you need to be taken to a shopping spree" I say taking in my last bite of pizza and getting up from my seat.

I wash my hands and pay, as I come back I see he was done with his meal as well.

We get out of the place and get back to the car. After taking a left towards his driveway. In no time I was in front of his huge house.

"You're gonna tell me if she covered up for you," I remind him as he opens the door to get out. "Oh, and please, burn that shirt" I point towards his shirt now that he was out of the car.

"How do I reach you?" He asks holding the door, now that he's out.

"I will," I wink at him watching him close the door at get to his door.

I find myself smiling looking at that kid. I like him, he might be my escape of this shit dip, or at least an entertainment to help time pass in this nightmare of a city, he better not fuck it up.
