The long meeting was soon enough over. And trust me, it was a relief.
I got into my car as everyone else got into theirs. Except Eric got in with his Father.I stayed in the car a second before being the engine back to life. Huh, why is Eric's mother a redhead, given that his sister is blonde. And he's a brunette, and his father has good old classic black hair. And why doesn't he get his own car, he sure is the legal age to drive...
I went back home and had a typical night routine, and buried myself in the super king sized bed. After connecting my phone to the charger and double checking on the alarm, I drifted into deep sleep no one would disturb me from.
The Sun was barely visible behind the heavy curtains hung on the wall when my alarm went off.
I woke up and jumped into the shower skipping the face washing bit, but shaving my beard. My barely visible one. That was how I liked it, he liked it like that too...
After everything was done and I dropped him off in silence. I made my way to the gym, work, work, work, work, work, work.
3 00. School. I pulled my cap further down my face like usual and raised my shades further up my face, and soon enough Eric gets inside after saying farewell to his friends.
We pulled over in his house's sidewalk as I remembered telling him about the leaving time.
"Kid, we leave at 7. Be ready by then" I told him as he was about to leave.
He looked at me with confusion written all over his face, "I thought we leave tomorrow" he stated.
"Yeah sure, I'll totally drive 6 hours in a day" I sarcastically said.
"Oh, sorry totally skipped my mind" he replied looking down at his hands.
I looked back at the driving wheel in front of me as I further explained. "We leave tonight, spend the night there and come back Sunday night."
He nodded in agreement as he left the car.
Fast, it was already 6 30. I got off of the couch, to seek the closet and got a small 360 Louis Vitton. After grabbing one, I filled it with two pyjamas, a trainers outfit, and a few casual clothes along with a your-very-typical skinny jeans.
Once my bag was filled with also some essential daily toiletry items, I zipped it closed and got the small bag down the stairs. I walked with the bag by my side till I reached the car and threw it over the backseat.
I stopped my car as I saw Eric standing outside with a grin reaching the back of his ear, with his similar but not very bag by his side. I got out of the car and took his bag over to the back seat while he got inside and made himself comfortable.
Okay that was too comfortable.
As soon as we were on the highway, Eric connected his AUX cord to the car and played a song I was pretty sure I heard earlier. Did I mention we had some sick people on set who played music, because the thought it 'enlightened the mood?'
I knew the ride was going to be long but Nicki Minaj wasn't the best way to make time pass faster. Why is she saying 'Fuck Nicki?' And why is she yelling? And why do I have a dude yelling 'I'm a motherfucking monster' in my passenger seat?
I was either going to focus on the sick lyrics, or keep us alive. I focused on the road once again as I suddenly found my car on open-air mode. I'd lie I said it wasn't fun. Seeing him screaming and standing up from his seat to enjoy the cold air, was kind of adorable.
The music wasn't great, but seeing him that happy made me reconsider. Perhaps three hours are tolerable?
What felt like forever later, Eric finally turned down the music as I closed the roof. It was almost raining now, plus we were going at high speed. I'm no professional, But I assume thats dangerous, Especially when you're on a high way.
We spoke about many thing. Why he didn't drive even though he was the legal age, what had happened to his uncle that caused his mom to get him a driver, even though his mom appearing to not give two shits about him as long as her heels are clicking and her lipstick is not smudged, his driver disappearing from the earth's crust, his sister and her multiple relationships, and how she would have difficulties in finding the right one later on with her life. Many, many useless shit. Until he passed out from tiredness.
I tried tilting his head occasionally as it would always hang low, but it was of no use. He would definitely wake up with neck pain.
When we left the highway, I pulled over and lowered the chairs back so he'd have a more comfortable sleep.
"Sam... Stop" he said under his breath as I shook him to wake up, after we reached the hotel we'd be staying in.
I raise an eyebrow in anticipation as he was looking all angelic in his sleep.
I slipped a hand around his neck slowly rubbing the hair in the back, as I got a few inches away from his ear I yelled, "wake up!"
He jerked from the seat taken aback from the action, I quickly removed my hand and sat properly in my seat without him processing what had happened.
"You okay?" I asked with false concern in my voice.
"Yeah," he said in a husky voice. "Probably a nightmare," he continued whilst rubbing the back of his neck where my hand had been.
"Well we're here, move it." We both got outside, as I left the car on. Another guy in a uniform greeted us and led us to the door that was a few steps away getting back to the car.
We got inside as it was no longer chilly but warm inside. A few minutes later, I was in front of the receptionist, and Eric where I'd told him to wait for me.
"Royal Suite, please." I asked the asshole behind the counter who seemed so busy he didn't even look at me for a good two minutes.
"One moment, sir" he said, stretching out every word as much as he could then he looks at me.
I grinned falsely wide at the man as he asked with the same false smile. "How may I help you, sir?" He asked with the smile still plastered on his face. However mine nowhere to be seen.
"Royal Suite," I repeated.
"I'm really sorry, sir. We don't have any available at the moment." He said with the same grin still there, without going through the computer.
"Smoking, twin room" I thought alternatively.
"Sorry," he repeated. This time after actually going through his computer.
"What do you have available?" I asked taking off my hat and messing my hair.
"Mister, Canvas! We have a king sized room available for your comfort." He replied smiley, but what pissed my off, was it was real.
Eric showed up right after the man had said his words asking, "everything alright?"
standing beside me resting his folded arms over the counter. The man looked between us, his smile slowly turning to disgust. Eric noticed it and lowered his hand not being too comfortable with the scenario."Yes, everything is perfect," I told Eric putting cap back on before wrapping my arms around his shoulders lazily.
I passed my passport over the counter and looked at the now fully disgusted dude who tried concealing it with a dirty smile. "My card." I said stretching out my arm in front of his as he passed me a paper which I saw him put two similar cards in.
"H-Have a pleasant stay, sir" he said shakily as I took the keys. Dick-wad. He didn't even tell me my room number. I removed my hand from Eric's shoulder as he expectantly was blushing. I took a look inside the paper cover and there the room number was. 5012. Well, what's better than San Diego's view at night. We went up the elevator as Eric began cracking his neck.
"I'm guessing it hurts." I said as the elevator read 23 going higher.
"Yeah," he said yawning. "How long was I out for?" He asked.
"Long enough." I said as the doors of the elevator began opening. He walked in front of me and yawned again. Causing me to do the same myself.
