More than friends

Chapter 4

Amy Pov

I had never met Henry Howard in person but from what I had heard, he was famous for throwing the most amazing parties. And I must admit that it was true what people said.  All had been planned down to the last detail. The party held in a beautifully converted barn in a rural location about 20 minutes from downtown Austin. The venue had a wooden polished floor, and was simply decorated with some tastefully positioned fairy lights and candles. The tables were decorated with white flowers and silver tablecloths. There was low-level music playing and many places to sit and chat with other guests. Felix looked pretty good in his blue suit and I couldn't have been happier to accompany him. Around us there were no familiar faces. I was taking a look inside when suddenly, a tall, brown hair guy got closer to us.

" Hey, Felix, my friend. How are you? It's been a while. It's so good to see you" The guy said smiling

"Hi, Henry. Fine, thanks. I'm really glad to see you too. Henry, this is Amy. Amy, this is Henry, one of my best childhood friends. Henry, I hope you don't mind if I asked Amy to come with me" Felix said

"Absolutely not! You did the right thing. My house is always open to the girls, especially when they are so gorgeous. Nice to meet you, Amy. It's a pleasure to know you." Henry said

"You are too kind. Nice to meet you too." I said blushing

"So, what do you think about the party?" Henry said

"I think that you outdid yourself once again." Felix said

"Oh, actually, it was not me. My cousin's girlfriend planned everything from decorations to drinks and I must admit that she did a good job. Speaking about drinks , Felix, I hope that alcohol will no longer be a problem for you" Henry said 

"No, I'm done with it. I feel better and furthermore, from now, I'm officially free to date who I want." Felix said smiling at me

"I'm really happy for you. I knew you could do it!" Henry said smiling and then, he added turning towards me: "What about you, sweetheart? "

" There is not much to say. If you want to get to know me, you will have to get me drunk ...but I warn you, I could get a little chatty" I said jokingly

" You're very funny. I like your sense of humour. If Felix doesn't invite you to dance tonight, I'll do it.  Anyway, I hope you will have a good time. See you later."

Meanwhile at Amy's house

KARMA POV

I tried to call Amy and Felix several times but nothing. They will be probably stuck somewhere without no reception. I hope only that it is not too late. I know that i promised Amy that I wouldn't interfere with her personal life but I cannot abandon her to her fate. I couldn't stand seeing her sad again. 

"Lauren, I tried to call Amy and Felix but nothing. And even if I wanted to get to her, I wouldn't even know where the party is."

" Don't worry, Karma. Liam should know it. Henry had invited him, too. Let me call Liam and ask him" Lauren

" Thank you for the help. " 

"Listen, I'm not doing this for you but only for Amy because contrary to what I made her believe, I care much about her." Lauren said

"I know and it is for this reason that I need you to drive me to the party."

"Okay, give me five minutes, just long enough to phone Liam and let's go."

"Okay, I'll wait for you outside"

Amy Pov

The party was much better than I thought  and Felix's friends were so nice and friendly with me. Felix was so kind with me and he made me feel at ease. He did nothing but smile at me all the time and I must admit that he looked so charming and adorable. I think I could fall in love with his adorable dimples...Who knows what the future holds for us, I thought to my self. 

"Amy, are you ok? he said snapping me back into reality.

"Yes, of course." I said smiling

" You looked lost for a second." He said laughing and then added: "You are getting bored, aren't you?If you want, we can come back home. You are so gorgeous tonight and I look like a fool" He said

 " Felix, you don't look like a fool and I could never get bored talking to you. You're one of those people that I actually look forward to talking to, even if you don't say much." I said smiling at him

"Amy, I..."

"You, what?"

Ring Ring Ring

"Oh I'm sorry, it will be surely my father. I must answer him or he'll think about the worst" Felix said

"Don't worry. Take your time. Meanwhile, I'll go to pick up something to drink" I said
