 Karma Pov

Lauren and I didn't know where we were going. Liam had told us that the party held in a rural location not too far from downtown Austin.  Almost half an hour had elapsed and we hadn't seen any street signs yet that confirmed that we were heading in the right direction.  Lauren just kept driving forward. More the minutes ticked by, more I grew less and less certain of our course.

"Lauren, are you sure that we are heading in the right direction?" I asked

"Yes, the Gps says so." she confidently replied

"But Lauren, the Gps is not infallible, it can make mistakes. For example, two years ago, by following the directions suggested by Gps, an old friend of my father's crashed the Suv into the water in Mercer Slough Nature Park."

"Karma, stop talking to me while I'm driving, I get distracted". 

"But..." I said

 " Shut up or get out of my car!" Lauren told me with irritated voice.

"Lauren, I know that you are still mad at me because of all that happened between Amy and me last year but I need that you trust me. I never meant to hurt Amy. I really care about her and I would do anything for her."

 "Listen to me carefully, Karma. I don't like you. I'm helping you only because I am worried about Amy just like you and she needs you. I don't want her to suffer because of Sabrina. I swear that I'll punch that liar in her face if only she gets close to Amy." Lauren said

"I like the way you think. Amy is right. You're not so bad after all. Maybe, we could also become friends" I told her with a smile

"Don't even think about it, you understand me?"she said

"Okay but...."

"Shhhh. Karma, do you hear that too?"

"What?" I said

"This deafening music. Maybe, we are closer than we think." Lauren said

" Yeah, you're right. Look at all those cars. Now,  all we need is a plan to get into the party." I said

Lauren Pov

When I phoned Liam to ask him for the address, he offered to help us. He told me that he had a house close to Henry's and that there, we would have found all we needed to get ready. I was looking for Liam's house when suddenly, Karma said: 

"Lauren, where are you going?Henry's house is over there"      

"I know it but, if we want to get into the party without hassle, we need a dress" I said

"Yeah, you are right but I think that it is too late to find one. We should have thought of that before. Come, there will be surely a side entrance. If necessary, I am also ready to climb up the wall" she said

"Karma, you really can't shut your mouth, can you? You didn't give me the time to explain myself. How can you expect me to trust you if you don't even hear me? I cannot understand how Amy can put up with you. She must be a saint." I said    

Karma grew silent. I felt so guilty towards her. She didn't deserve this treatment. I must apologise to her.  

"Hey Karma, I'm so sorry for how I treated you before. I didn't mean those things I said and I never should have said them but, the fact is that sometimes, you are so annoying that you try my patience.   Anyway, if you had let me speak, I would have explained that I was looking for Liam's house because he told me that there, we could have chosen what to wear for the party." 

"No, Lauren, I'm sorry for before. The truth is that when it's Amy involved, I act impulsively and I pay little attention to people around me." she said

"You know, if you weren't straight, I would think that you are in love with her."

"No, Lauren, what are you thinking? Amy and I have known each other a long time. We grew up together and it is normal that I'm very protective towards her. I'm sure that if she were in my shoes, Amy would do the same for me. I have no feelings for her." Karma replied without convincing me completely. 

I am sure that she feels something for Amy but she is too scared to admit it to herself and I'll prove it or my name's not Lauren Cooper. 

"Karma, Come. I think I found the house. Let's go to get ready" I said
