Friday rolled around faster than I thought. I was more than excited for this day to come and now that it's here I can't help but to feel nervous. I haven't seen Nina since I was twelve but our friendship never ended ever since.
"Have you been avoiding me?" Cara's voice took me right out of my thoughts, causing me to sit up from laying on my back and looking at the ceiling for god knows how long.
"Cara!" Her showing up unannounced scared me. "What are you doing here?"
She was standing in the doorway with her arms crossed. "You answered my question with a question."
"Sorry." I sighed.
"I haven't seen you since the library. When I leave my house in the morning you're already gone and when I try to catch you at school you walk the other way." She explained. "Is this a coincidence or you're just sick of me now?"
Oh no.
I did not want to her to feel like that. Yes, I may have been avoiding her but for a good reason. "It's not a coincidence." I sigh. "It's just that since I helped you with homework I thought you had got what you wanted and was done with me so I tried avoiding you so it wouldn't be awkward."
This week without her made me overthink. For some reason I thought there's no way she actually, genuinely liked me. I started to think about all the stuff we did and how most of it benefited her. We never actually hung out.
She laughed and plopped on my bed next to me. "I'm not using you. I would never do that." She playfully nudged my arm. "We're friends now so you better get used to it. You're stuck with me." She placed her hand on my knee making my heartbeat slightly increase. "And to prove it why don't you come over to my place tomorrow. We can watch movies and eat. You know, something normal."
"I thought you'd never ask."

"So when is the snobby little bitch getting here?"
"Snobby? Really?" I chuckled.
"Sorry I'm running out of insults." Harry admitted, flipping through channels on the living room tv.
"She said she'll be here in ten minutes so you should probably go."
"I told you I just want to say hi and then I'm gone."
"Why don't I believe you?" I laugh.
The sound of doorbell actually made my heart drop. "That's her."
"Yeah so don't keep her waiting, love." The eagerness in Harry's voice only made me even more nervous.
"Uh, I would but I don't think I can get up so you should go get it." I said rather quickly, hoping that he would be a good friend.
"Fine." He got up and went to the door while I stayed frozen on the couch.
What is wrong with me?
If I can handle Cara then I shouldn't be nervous about Nina.
Right?
"The famous Nina is here!" Harry wasn't very subtle on the sarcasm.
There she was.
Standing right in my living room looking just like I had remembered her. And also from her recent pictures we send each other. All the anxiety had went away just by seeing her.
"It's so good to see you." She said waking towards me and it without neither of us hesitating or thinking we just wrapped our arms around each other, taking each other in. And just like that- she wasn't a memory anymore.
