Chapter 2: Changes and Hero? (Carslie POV)

Carlisle's POV
"Wow..." Me and my family took a long journey from Alaska back to Forks to find it was changed...a lot. It was cloudy and the sun wasn't out but it was so bright in atmosphere. Children were playing and laughing outside of houses and on streets, mothers chatted and sipped drinks on porches watching their children have fun, teenagers were standing and talking not to mention laughing a lot. It wasn't like this when we were here 7 months ago. 7 months ago, people were scared to be outside because of street crime. Forks was riddled with fear and now people are dancing around like nothing's ever happened. Ever.
"What happened? What changed?" Esme was as shocked as I was. She watched people go past without a care in the world the little adorable 'o' she made with her small mouth turned up into a wide smile touching her beautiful butterscotch eye's. "It's beautiful..."
I looked out the window once again noticing that an awful lot of children were wearing the same costume. The shirt was a deep blue connected to a yellow belt with a red short skirt. The boots were red and knee high. The logo on the chest included a diamond shape with a large 'S' on the front. With a red long cape.
"Costumes?" I drew my beautiful wife's attention to the children's outfits. We drove by a familiar face in town. Charlie. We pulled over to talk to him, see if we could get some answers. I opened the door to the car and the others parked behind me.
"Chief Swan!" I call making my way over to him, his face was shocked at first but then faded back into his happy go-lucky smile that slotted perfectly into the atmosphere. My family came to talk to Charlie aswell.
"Cullens! It's been a long time! What? 'Bout 6-7 months? It's good to see you!" He shook my hand fiercely and Jasper looked very confused. I would look at Edward for an answer but right now I don't trust him. At all.
"Good to see you too Charlie, what happened around here? It seems so happy and bright." Charlie knows exactly what I'm talking about and begins to explain.
"Once you left after a few months someone appeared, she was incredible. She was unlike any person any had ever met. She could fly, she had heat vision, she was SUPER strong! A plane came down from the sky and was about to crash into the heart of the city when she flew over, fixed it up and threw it back on course! Since then she's been taking out crime in Forks totally, it completely safe with her protecting us! And her name? Her name was supergirl! She had super hearing and she has X-Ray vision!" I froze at the sudden load of information. This 'Supergirl' seems to have make a big change around here. Suddenly ,to interrupt my train of thought, the Forks bank alarm went off and 2 armed men came out with hostages.
"Oh god..." Esme whispered. Alice was next to her hugging her shoulders and smiling.
"What is it ,Alice?" Esme whispered to her.
"3...2...1..." Alice's high pitch voice sang while counting down and before I knew it my hair was blowing in a sudden gust of wind and the crowd behind us cheered. Almost instantly a girl was standing in front of the armed men. I could only see her back which was covered with the long cape popular with the children. She had her hands on her hips and she was clearly wearing a blue long sleeved shirt in an unfamiliar material. You could see the end of her red boots, her hair slightly in curls in the ends and didn't move an inch. You would have guessed she was wearing hairspray but I couldn't smell any of the hairspray scent like Esme uses. The criminals pointed their guns at her.
"Come on now guys!" She says in a sarcastic tone, her voice was familar and so was her scent I could sense Edward tense and his mouth drop open. "A powerful alien who happens to be a superhero against 2 weak criminals? Who's gonna win?" The criminal on the right shot at the girl but the bullet bounced back towards him, he ducked just in time. "Did you not know I was bullet proof?" She dashed towards them faster than us in our vampire speed. She grabbed the guns throwing them away, the criminals' arms swung back and she latched onto them flipping the criminals over each other so their backs were on the floor. She grabbed the hostages quickly before they smashed into each other and guided them to safety. The criminal who was on the left stood up and swung a punch towards her. She easily grabbed his arm again without any difficulty. Her eyes were on the first criminal as the second one got up. She tripped up the second criminal as he charged for her making him slam into the steppes below face first. She used her other arm to grab the first criminals neck. She threw he first criminal into the wall with an almighty roar. The police showed up then and arrested the two criminals. The mystery girl never turned just bent her knees and launched herself upwards, flying away.
