Chapter 2

Leo's POV

It was finally time to pick up Hazel for our "date"! I was at the doorsteps to her cabin. I brought a Flower bouquet, the Demeter Cabin gave to me.

I wore clean jeans, a white button up shirt, and black converse.

I made sure I looked decent and knocked on the door. She opened the door smiled her gorgeous smile and I forgot how to speak. "H-hi Hazel." I said. "Hi Leo." she said blushing and pulled a piece of hair behind her ears. "Oh I got you these flowers." I smiled and gave them to her. "Oh there very pretty." she said kindly. "I'll put them in a vase, wait here." She said as she went inside. "

I just waited awkwardly for her to return. "Ok I'm back! Ready to go?" She said cheerfully. "Yep!" I said smiling as we headed to the strawberry fields.

Once we arrived I laid down a blanket and we both sat down next to each other. "Hey Hazel wanna here a joke?" I asked smiling. "Sure." She smiled too. "Ok, what does the horse say when he's offered drugs?" I laughed a little and Hazel made a face which made me laugh more. "Why would a horse be offered drugs?" She asked. "Besides the point!" I said smiling. "Ok, I give up." she smiled. "Neigh way." I smiled. "That was cheesy." she laughed and so did I. "I know."

Hazels POV

Leo and I were having a wonderful time. He said cheesy jokes, and I would laugh, we ate ham sandwiches, and cookies after. We started to watch the sunset and I leaned my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me. At first I was shocked then I realized I kind of liked it. That's when things got awkward.

"Um Hazel can I tell you something?" He asked letting go of me and faced me. "Sure." I said nonchalantly, even though I was nervous on the inside."Umm well you see I think your a really pretty, smart, and talented." He blushed and so did I. "What I guess I'm trying to say is that I like like you." He looked at me hopefully. "Look Leo, your really sweet and all, but I just don't like you that way." I said looking at him sadly. He blushed and said "O-ok I understand." He got up and said "Well I guess I'm gonna go." he chuckled nervously. "Ok, night." I said to him. "Night Hazel." He smiled sadly and walked away.

I just sat there and thought until I decided to go to my cabin and sleep.

Leo's POV

Why did I tell her I liked her? I knew she liked Frank! Oh my gods I'm so stupid. I just hope Hazel and I well remain friends. I sighed in exasperation and went to bed.
